Cuthead hurt again

Cutler has been looking good, problem with future is that Gase is expected to get a head coaching offer for next year. So, looks like Cutler will yet again get another offensive coordinator. No sense in getting a new QB, there's not much out there and new draft picks haven't really blown away any scouts as of yet.

Pace knows this, don't be surprised if gase gets a raise and told your next in line after fox. but if the correct opportunity comes, he may take it. remember some of these guys don't want to coach bad teams that will just kill the career, but if gase was offered say the colts job and Andrew luck, surely he would take it. see what happens.

Cutler looked good again. Think he has played himself into sticking around next year...What was the stat I read. since cutler became a bear has 12 come from behind 4th qrt wins....which is most in NFL in that time period

Langford also looks ready to play. Adrian amos is also promising. future not so grim. with at least 9 draft picks this year and 60 million in cap space bears may be alright.

there are stats for everything nowadays....didn't know they kept such close tabs on quarterbacks trailing there oppnents after 3 quarters.

Crying shame to have Gase leave he has done wonders with Cutler. Da Bears are coming along look better every week...Langford can play... Carey Idk 3rd stringer all the way it seems even with Forte out. Very nice to see Miller FINALLY do something in prime time game & stay healthy. Houston woke up what was up with that? ..lol

Fox made it clear to players after slow start to season play 60 minutes, do your job, improve or we will bring in someone else that wants to play. This team is in the game playing hard & get better in Q4 when the other team tires out. Da Bears still short on talent but good coaching making the most of what they do have. I have no idea what happend with Trestman last year but that team had no fight & would laydown. Not many players left from that mess & good to see them go. Let the young guys play see what they have but must say Fox doesn't throw his players to the wolves...he makes sure they know what they are doing before he puts then in a game.

I like Gase and Cutler quick short throw & run ball control....seen many defenses gassed when Bears O move the ball 80-90 yard time grinding drives!

The Bears still haven't beaten anybody that is any good. The Chargers could screw up a free lunch at John Deere Days. They suck just about as bad as Detroit. Way too early to talk about turning the corner and 'some of the pieces are in place'. They need a lot of pieces and even 60 million doesn't go far in this day and age. It will be awhile before they get back in the playoffs. Green Bay will be at the top for a few more years and by then Zimmer will have built a killer defense so the Vikes will rule the North for awhile. The Bears and Lions will be cellar dwellers for a long time to come.

One could say the same about the Packers ...lol..lost 2 Denver & Panthers both contenders no one saying Da Bears are going to SB anytime soon but way better & showing improvement over last year. St Louis a good quality check see how the Bears hold up?

The chargers had the packers beat at home.
The chargers losses even to the good teams like bengals, steelers, packers have all been close. In their house GREAT comeback win down by 9 by da bears. They were no push over.

Minus the games clauson played, bears games all close. Even against cards was 1 score game when cutler went down then yea clauson cant do much.

Im not a buyer in minnesota. Sorry they are gona get torched by GB. Bears had them beat so easily...

Vikes rule the division for awhile, got a good laugh outa that one!!

Ps 60 million is the equivalent of 12 quality starters or 6 elite starters. For being a competitive team that will go along ways.

Rams smoked the Bears last year or last time they played Chris got in middle of fight that Kyle was in..lol.. IDK on paper Rams better but if Cutler can get that quick passing game going with Rams D he can pretty much do it against any team. Interesting progress check for Bears.

Yea i remember that 2 years ago with trestman and co. Think mccown started that game. Rams are very physical...just looked at line bears 8 point dogs..not good matchup but yea could easily keep it close...oline need to play well or cutler and running game get killed.

When the Bears played the Chargers the Chargers were missing about 1/2 of their starters. Not the same team that played close games with the big teams. Vikes doing it with mirrors this year. Bridgewater is not the answer. The Vikes just can't admit they screwed up the QB position two times in a row. Actually they haven't had a QB since Favre left. But they are building a defense. And a crushing defense will win more games than a gunslinger. See Jay Cutler. Note - I said BUILDING. It just doesn't happen with one or two drafts and a big checkbook. Not all your draft choices pan out. Free agents also not a slam dunk to make short or long term difference. They are usually older and carry a big price tag. See Suh. Ad injuries to the mix. You have to be deep. Sure you are going to win a game now and then with an inferior roster because they are all pros and sometimes guys have career days. Consistency and brains and next man up wins championships. How many athletes are out there with incredible physical skills but probably can't recite the alphabet let alone learn a playbook? See Corduroy Patterson. As a GM you have to be lucky as well as competent and not get sucked into the hype. The 90's Cowboys were not built over night. The Patriots of today were not built overnight. The Seahags were built over about 4 years of high draft choices because they sucked so bad previous to that. The Packers got lucky with Rodgers just as the Pats got lucky with Brady. Neither were high picks. Pats already grooming Garapolo. That is the difference between the truly elite teams and the sludge. All the pretenders are trying to figure out how to put together a winning record. The Pats are actively working on staying on top.

I dont think bridgewater is the long term answer either. Thats why i dont see sustainable success from them, maybe a one or tow year wonder. If you see all the teams that dominate over long runs they all have great QBs and coaches.

Bears had a great defense from about 05-2012, its tuff to keep that together and even then its also tuff to win division every year with no QB or average QB. Great QBs cover up so many flaws in a team and front office.

Seahwks have hit some home runs late in the draft as well. Russel wilson, sherman, i think earl thomas was early but linebackers late to. They also have the most undrafted free agents playing which says alot about their good scouting.

I also agree drafting a QB is lucky. But its a gamble ya gota take. No one ever knows for sure if the said QB will ever pan out. Packers and pats i would say have benefited from some things falling their way along with some good descsions.

The queens got lucky again when they played the Rams. The Rams were without 2 studs on the D line. The studs will be back this week against the Bears. The queens might get lucky again this weekend against the Raiders if Cooper doesn't play. If Cooper does play the queens won't have to wait a week to get blown up by the Packers. The qb they should have drafted - Carr - will crucify them. Bridgewater will never win a shootout. Not his game. But how is this for a shootout prediction? Detroit at Green Bay. I can see a 48 to 42 score. Stafford will get unleashed to do things his way with very little input from whoever the new OC is. Detroit coming off a bye. Stafford is not a bad QB. Just surrounded by a bad situation not unlike Cutler. Detroit has nothing to lose. Pressure is all on Green Bay and their D has been exposed over the last 2 weeks. GB the overwhelming favorite. If Detroit can some points early it could rattle GB. Coaching in GB not championship quality. The Seattle playoff game last year proved that. They have been riding Rodgers for years. If Rodgers cant get it done don't expect much help from anybody else. It has taken them 1/2 the season to finally figure out that the fat slug Lacy can't get it done.

I could see the detriot/pack game being a shootout. lions have not won in green bay since 91.

GB coaching from most professional analysts is considered championship quality along with front office, not sure myself but mccarthey was smart enough to talk management in getting rid of favre in favor of Rodgers, when every single packer fan did not agree. Some mistakes were made no doubt against seattle last year. But you cannot over look aaron Rodgers not so great performance against them as well. 2 pics 1 TD, bad QB rating, ,.....for some reason he never gets criticism, if he gets busted in playoffs again...who do you point the finger at. It will be like peyton manning all over again....

Packers were my pick before season started, as of now I could not see them winning the NFC. Oline not playing well, Rodgers holding ball to long, defense isn't impressive. Arizona and Carolina look like much more complete roster, especially if the get the top 2 seeds in playoffs and pack have to beat them in their houses.

Haha john clayton was on ESPN radio and he said lacy is too fat and has been lacking cardio vascular exercise and watching film their recievers can not get any separation. all teams are doing is playing man to man on outside, which bodes as a terrible matchup against teams like seattle, Arizona in playoffs as they have man to man corners.

have you forgotten about the 2010 SB with like 22 starter's on IR and losing Driver and Woodson during the SB game?
I'd say that qualifies as one he$$ of a championship coaching job that season.
I won't even get into the endless division titles or the 2nd best record in the NFL the last 10 years.....
