Cutting a 4x4

whats is the easiest way to cut thru a 4x4 post and have an even cut?

12" sliding compound miter saw.

If you only have a 7 1/4" circular saw make sure your blade is square to the plate of the saw, use a speed square to draw lines around the 4X4 and cut real true to the line on 2 opposite sides. Not easy to be perfect without practice but can be done without too much trouble.

Clamp a scrap piece of wood to it so the saw plate has and edge to follow.

Easiest way is have someone else make that cut. How precision does a 4x4 have to be for an even cut ?
