Josh

Josh needs to step up and become the leader on the boat until he can captian it himself. He and Cornelia need to make Jake an absentee owner as he is a major detriment to the boat and crew.

Yes he is family, but if they want to survive someone has to take the leadership roll.

Very much true. I thought that when Jake split for the airport when cornered to do a drug test would of been enough for him not to return.

Watching after the catch

showed how immature (both in age and mentality) the Harris boys are. Maybe the replacement captain was right saying Phill did the boys a disservice. He let them get away with murder (see: episode where Jake bought a flat screen T.V. on Phill's dime) The boat seemed to run a lot smoother and Phill had a ton less stress before Jake got on the boat. Now they hire a Captain with a great reputation (the other Captain's words, not mine) that runs a tight ship and the crew could not handle it. It sounds like Freddie saw the writing on the wall for a long time coming, and stayed as a favor for the old man. Now that the inmates are running the asylum, he jumps ship for another captain who, coincidentally, runs a tight ship. After the catch also caught the boys in a few lies (they where "forced to go blue crab fishing") that leads me to believe that the replacement captain (his name escapes me at the moment) was honest when saying he smelled weed on Jake. If I am Cornelia, I do whatever I can to buy out the Harris boys before they sink that ship. (No pun intended)

I dont get how the kids know almost nothing about fishing at their age.when I was 7or8 till about 19/20 I spent the better part of the summer on the boat as did alot of other kids around the canery.the old man must have not let them ever go out as kids.when I was 10 I could drive the boat with radar to the fishing spots that the old man marked on the maps.that is what I dont get phil had to have his spots programed on gps with modern gps almost any ahole should be abel to find the Phils hot spots.when I was a teen I loved going to the cannerys for overnights.the cannerys had lots of college kids better than 2/3 girls working and more or less camping for the summer always a party. prob not the case any more.I stll say all the drugs are bad B.S is just that B.S you dont stay awake working 3to 4 days then 3hr sleep and back to it on mt dew.that was the other big biz at the cannery

Here's a crazy idea. Just try and stick with me for a moment.

How about turning the TV off and doing something different?

Ok, now back to our regularly scheduled program... :)

Funny thing is we did exactly that this summer. Our kids, 9 & 10, had a day where they were absolutely horrible and we shut off the satellite. It's been over a month now and the kids are reading more, playing outside more, and behaving better. We still watch some movies from time to time but it's not all day, every day. The last two nights we've actually watched home movies from when the kids were babies and they thought it was hilarious. We'll see how long we stick to it, gonna be tough when football season starts!
