Discussion Board Issues/New Features

So for some reason, the board is displaying tags like &lt;br&gt; in some of the posts. I have tried my best to fix the issue and as is usually the case with the more complicated ones, I ran out of talent! So I will be getting in tough with Paul, who has bailed me out a ton of times and there is an excellent chance that he will be able to fix it. So hang in there a while more.<br><br>Also, way back in the stone age, when I first started this discussion board, I hesitated to allow avatars to be displayed. Well, a big chunk of ice fell and hit me on the head and changed my mind on that one. So, as you can see by the avatar in this post, the option is now enabled. Please keep it PG rated, so men, no nude pictures of ladies and ladies, no nude pictures of yourselves without first sending them to me for approval!&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>Looking forward to seeing everyone's avatars popping up.<br><br>Carry on!<br><br>-John

Your comment about avatars might be a tad premature...I tried and it won't let me uncheck "Do Not Use Avatar"...Now what?

<br><br>Give it a try now. There are about a million things that nees to be gone through on the admin side of this software, so hopefully I have flipped all the switches now!<br>

What type of file does it need to be? I tried again and now I get "Upload failed"...should be a .gif or .jpg or what? ... size is 75x75 pixels, &lt;5 kb

John - Might be totally unrelated, but I noticed the comments regarding this issue not long after the advertisements were enabled for the forum (such as the banner google ad at the top of this post). Wonder if it's related. That happened to support the JDSP, correct? Were people seeing the issue before then?

I've not seen the issue as it is described, though I do see lack of formatting on some posts that I'm pretty sure were created with a few carriage returns.

buddah2- Mine is a .jpg, but I would think a .jpg would work too. I did not worry about the size, the board resized it.<br><br>2TrackR- It sure could be that. I will be removing the ads for the JDSP, so we will see what that does!<br><br>-John

I kind of like the wolf, looks neat, just wish that uploading photos was easier, I belong to another website and uploading photos there is a piece of cake, I don’t know what the differences are but oh well, I guess being as old as in the Stone Age and not knowing all the up-to-date technology advances... well then I guess that explains it

Actually, it is very close, but is not Blizzard T. Husky. Unless we both grabbed it from the same avatar website!<br>
