Did I hear, "Mountains" ???
This right here is why we have so many problems. Can't fix stupid, no respect.
My group took advantage of the 200,000+ acres of public land in Houghton County.
I agree that off trail riding in areas clearly posted is deplorable.
Additionally, my opinion is that a large percentage of locals ride mountain sleds. Do you think they are riding the trails? They are going places with deep snow. They may know of these areas from years of following and being told where to go or they studied plat maps and google earth.
What harm would be done by going down a road not plowed or posted???
We road all last weekend utilizing logging roads. The few sleds that we ran into while doing so were all local guys.
Additionally, for it to be unlawful trespassing, the land has to be posted according to local laws. In MN if its not agricultural land that means posted at all corners, access points, and every 300ft.

It's the weee factor, the brain just shuts down

Oh what's over there.. Weee
Se those tracks where did they go.. Weee
And then finally dang I gotta go wee
If you don't know where to go, DON'T GO. If you don't know the land or at least have a plat book, DON'T GO. If it says no trespassing or has a no snowmobiles sign, DON'T GO.
so what you are saying is that if its not posted no trespassing that you can ride anywhere? you all can be mad at what I'am about to say but here it go's. How about all off trail riding(unless you own the land)is trespassing. This may just be my thoughts here but it is my opinion that the reason we had so much trouble with people riding off trail in southern wisconsin when we had the 1 big snow this year was because people that where use to riding up north where off trail riding is allowed.plain and simple...just obey the signs!!!
