Dogs on the 4th of July

Thought I'd offer some common sense for the upcoming holiday. Most dogs don't like fireworks! Use some caution when it's time to touch off the arsenal. Not just for personal safety but for the sake of the pets. If the dog or cat is pacing, panting, hiding, they're probably sensitive to the noise. Their sense of smell and hearing is far beyond us humans, heck our dog even dislikes a fire in the fireplace. Probably thinks the house is on fire!

Just checked my Sileo stock. I'm good. Doggy dope. Get some from your vet. Its cheap to. Heck why shouldn't your pup get a buzz once a year? The vet lady said its like a 6 pack for you (me) I asked if they had the 80 proof version. She chuckled... We put off a **** of a show in my backyard and the first year wasn't good. Sileo has worked since. Snobuilder you drinking again?

I know many people's dogs have issues with the noise etc but the out of last 7 dogs we've had (1 cocker, 1 GSD, 1 bearded collie mix, and 4 Tibetan Terriers)
absolutely none have had issues...to a dog all of them will sleep on their backs, legs all akimbo while the nonsense is going on...can't be breed specific because of the mix...only thing I can think of, outside of blind luck, is we always spend considerable time with puppies calming and soothing them during thunderstorms or
whatever and we haven't had an issue in over 40 yrs...

One of our dogs hides in the closet on the 4th 'cuz he hates the noise.

He's definitely my least favorite dog of the many we've had, so I buy lots of loud stuff.

I could light a cannon under my Doberman and she wouldn't budge, must be because we live in da woods where gunshots are a daily event. But my setter/retriever won't walk across the vacuum cord!
