Do you think the market will become flooded with good used sled buys in the next 2-3 years? People got into the snowmobiling this year and if things go back to normal if there is such a thing. I believe there will be a lot of quality used sleds for sale. I should say even if weather remains in snowmobiles favor people buy them think there going to use them and things change. I'm sure we could list a thousand reason on this site on why people get out. So if you are a used sled buyer as I am what would be your dream used sled by be and why Mine would be a 2011 or newer Yamaha Apex . reason I am 53 want reliability and POWER steering i don't want to top off my oil every morning i just want to add gas and go

I dont think on newer sleds it will make 1 bit of diff poss on old $2000 junk .
if U are going to drop 5 to 14k on a toy 50 bucks is nothing and if u live in that state where 50 bucks is the cost for a trail sticker not even a thought.
the only people that will affect is the guy who only rides in WI 1 weekend a yr and already has tags for his state and say MI he will stay on home trails or keep rolling through.

I think it will hurt the person who keeps there sled at the cabin in the northwoods and also has the junker to putz around at home. Will they want to spend the $30 for maybe 1 or 2 rides. And most of the sleds I've seen for sale seem to be the 800's, started looking about a month ago and a lot more 8's then other sizes.

I don't see the newer used market changing much... nobody giving their sled away that I know of....biz as usual ..IMO Only thing that could cause a flood of used sleds would be if 1 of the OEMs changed platforms & everyone had to have it. All the OEMs refined platforms so if you were due for new you would trade or sell old sled. Not that many 2011 Apex were sold so jump on a low mile cream puff if you see 1. Pat's has a nice used Blue Apex XTX with touring windshield if not sold by now.

With the new sled sales in the US being under 50,000 for quite a few years now I don't think you will see a big change in what is for sale. There might be a few more high mileage ones around though.

I don't see it changing the used sled market for me. I buy RMK's. Nobody babies an RMK... I still think it's nuts when we're talking <$50 affects someone whether or not they want to snowmobile when probably 50% of my income goes to snowmobile related things....

Enjoy that while you can, but soon there will be other things in life you'll want to save some of that money for.

I'll buy both WI & MI permits but wait until conditions are good if conditions don't come together until mid Feb I'll probably stay in WI only buy WI permit. With holdays I really don't have time to ride until Jan 1 just didle around locally unless really good in UP early before XMAS.
