Could maybe run from Mass to the Rousseau bar and maybe venture down the newly reopened trail 109 to Alston from Twin Lakes but that’s about it. Freda loop is still closed, and can’t get across the bridge/canal in houghton.

If you’re looking to put on 150 miles I’d head to the eastern UP. Pretty much everything north of M28, east of Munising and west of M123 has plenty of snow cover. Could put on 100’s of miles if you covered every trail. Haven’t heard of any water issues that way… yet! I’m heading up there Saturday.

Keep in mind there is more snow on the way between now and Friday and could help change a lot of what I mentioned, but there is a slight warm up coming Sunday/Monday as well.

Bravo on trail 109 being reopened! Hopefully the Baraga group will do a good job with their end of it.

We’ve had a few inches of snow since the warmup and snowing now. We are in the 3-6” area so I’m going to take a little ride just to check my trails (UP Thunder Riders in Watersmeet) towards Marenisco maybe even further west if not bad to see how things are and to see if I can get groomers back out. Will be almost all grade running so will see what how it is and try to post later.

Sounds like our trip out West after Christmas may need to be switched to the UP!!!! Our guide for Togwotee called last night (Skinner Bell). He said it's very thin over there! Everyone thought we had a slow start out West last season (which we did), but he said it's thinner right now than it was at this time last season! :mad:

Well the extended forecast looks not so great… after today’s brief warm up ends, the next week looks pretty darn good, but after Xmas looks like $#1+. 3-5 days of upper 30s and rain.

Ok, extended forecast is ramping up for the good! Snow everyday and temps for January are showing 20 degrees colder than average for the whole month. Base is great so we're off and to the races everyone! Get your cold weather gear out and get ready to rock!!!

I have looked at enough forecast and notice a huge difference today! Back to the 3-4 days of faith in them then still look outside to see what is happening lol. Sure do miss JD forecasts and explanations of the weather along with everything else he did. Sure would have been nice to watch his video and his take on all this in his hockey sweater.
