Everyone is upset about the lack of snow since the middle of January for the Western U.P. and, Northern Wisconsin. However, I have spent more time in Ironwood than Chicago this winter. The trails are still "holding their own." The roads are bare along with the parking lots and, even bare on the trail in Hurley along Silver Street. But, for the last couple days we keep getting snow dustings so, we are not "totally losing." John Dee's forecast for next week holds promise and, you have to love Tom's comments from the Bergland Bay Bar. On Monday, we trailered from Ironwood to Lake Gogebic and the lake was fine along with the trails around it. Yes, trails could be better. But, the main point is they "are holding their own." Unlike last year at this time when the season ended suddenly with 70 degree temperatures around Valentines Day in Ironwood, that has not occured this year. I have faith we will have sled riding thru the middle of March this year. So, please although we are all sad, disappointed, discouraged even angry let us hold out Faith. My sleds are standing by in Ironwood and, I hope to take a ride tomorrow. Again, the best evidence that we will still get some good snow and riding is because the trails are "holding their own." I just want to "preach a word of Faith instead of my typical complaint of lack of snow....."
