Filling Boat With Gas

how come i don't blow up after eating pinto beans and touching a door knob. that blows a hole in all your theries.

Did you take humidity into account? Dryer the better! Just for test purposes wrap your self in bubble wrap and roll around the living room floor (on carpet). then touch the door knob. If this fails to ignite you, then eat more beans and repeat. Have your neighbor report back to us your findings. p.s. don't rely on just pinto beans, go for the seven bean salad for best results.

I just filled my boat wit a 5 gallon gas can while smoke'n a pallmall lit at both ends I'm such a rebel... :)

My vote is plugged vent. My old RV had a newer water tank that was installed by the previous owner - he did not vent the tank. When I would fill it with the hose, it would only take a few gallons until I let it burp. Since the tank was not much lower than the inlet, it would actually throw a large amount back out when it burped. Venting the tank solved the problem.

No one said illegal. It may be in the marina? A weed wacker with a pint of gas and a fiberglass boat that holds 200 plus gals. That is parked in a 400 slip marina all with gas or diesel fuel in them is not a good comparison. As far as the sleds, why gas cans? You have to fill the cans at the pump at the same price as if the sleds are filled themselves?

my local gas pump dose not stock c118 and I think I would rather hit my hand with a hammer than drive across anything but Ice with pin point sharp picks.I usually fill the boat in the spring at the gas station and then hump down 10 gal at a time when I am feeling ambitious.I actually talked with my insurance guy about filling with cans and if boat would be covered if she blew he looked in to it for me and I am covered.and so is my boat house.

I use the gas can with the boat sitting in a hoist, just like always. Why ? Why not. The one and only lake pump is ~4 miles away one way. A nice ride for sure, but easy to dump in 5 or 10 gals and not spill any. I will figure out if vent is plugged somehow.
As for the pouring of gas from a plastic or metal can, I've spent a lifetime of pouring gas from cans into gas engines. Really.

"As far as the sleds, why gas cans? You have to fill the cans at the pump at the same price as if the sleds are filled themselves?"

Its not always the dutch factor. I find it much easier to have 20 -25 gals gas in the garage.
In fact warm or cold its convenient.

I broke a golden rule, I canned in 40 gals. Into the tanks under the cover of darkness 2 nights ago. Dutch factor gas was at$ 2.40 a gal. Marina is at$ 3.48 got a nice dinner with the dif. Plus I was bored and wanted to take a walk on the wild side.
