Ya I know. At about the 100 mile mark, I was realizing that I had to undo what I just did, but it was too late then. Oh well, I will rest up tonight.

The trails were very good for the most part. A few short stretches that were bumpy. Not more than 20 miles total of the whole day had bumps.

My 13 year old son followed me all day and even he is whipped.

famousguy, how many miles do you think you've put on in your lifetime? a guy in my snowmobile club used to be in a group called the outback 7 and they'd ride cross country all over michigan, wisconsin, minnesota, out west, and canada. he's 4000 miles away from 100,000 miles in his lifetime. he's logged every mile in a notebook since 1969.

oh yeah, and he gave me some advice. "Never pull your sled out unless your going to put on 100 miles"

Well, I have pretty much the same theory. I rarely get all my gear on for a ride less than 100 miles.

As for total lifetime mileage, I really have no idea. I have been riding since I was 5, but I did have a few years of not riding because of no money.

Just a guess would be in the 40,000 to 50,000 range for me.

Glad to hear you ride in my neck of the woods (Irons area). I just got home from 5 days in Pellston/ Harbor Springs area and north. Great off trail riding. And I am sore. Did you hit the Oak Grove in Irons?

That is a good ride. I have a cottage between Reed City and Evart. Twice last year I rode from my cottage to Reed City to Baldwin, to Irons, to Wellston, to Kaleva and then to Thompsonville and then back down to Cadillac and home. 300 mile ride in one day.

Great ride! I'm a little sore as well, we put on 620 miles in 2 1/2 days in the Eastern U.P. this past weekend! Great conditions and very few riders made for an awesome time!

The only thing that is sore is my forearms from nailing the throttle and holding on, no better pain than that!

The bar in irons. I dont know the name of it but they got the best food. I recommend you try the Nachos. Good drinks, peanut shells on the floor and great food. Its become one of our stops when we are through there.

The Oak Grove Tavern.

A neat old watering hole to stop for lunch when riding.

Try the blt with the peanuts and a rootbeer.
