That is right, my first ride of the year was at home! I put 3.2 miles on the new sled. That counts don't it? LOL.

it counts the same as if u had it jacked up and was just spinning the track, only difference is u got a little white stuff on the ground. (and sat on it)

That Yamaha died in 2004! LOl. I picked this one up a few weeks ago, $1150 I had to clean the carbs, twice, and do a few other minor things, but it runs awesome now. It will be my trail burner here at home.

A first ride is a first ride! Got my first one in today. Short but sweet. Just finished shoveling about 11" off the deck. We got about six more inches after this was taken.

Hey Skiroule, I'm not sure which one I'm more jealous of, the TX or the Pro? I'm thinking your just gona have to let me try 'em both, so I can come up with a solid answer.:)

I approached this forecast with my usual skepticism. The weather locals were using terms like "Snowami" and "Snowmagedon" but it really did keep coming down. I would bet we've easily surpassed last years total.

I know nothing about grooming but this seems like the perfect snow to build a trail base. Heavy and sticky but not sloppy. If we get the cold and wind that is forecast, it should set up like concrete.

Not that I don't trust you, but I'll have to sleep on that one. I'll tell you though, the old school stuff is pretty dang fun. I told my wife that I was going to pick up a metalflake Bell bucket for my head (2 sizes too small, of course). She just gave me that look.

skiroule,

Love the TX! I had a 1976 TX 250 when I was about 14. Just the sound of the sled brought back lots of memories. I would love to find a nice TX like that some day

I got 10 miles between my 2 sleds on ditch banging. Couldn't believe how crappy the front suspension is on my 99 700 compared to my 05 500! Never road each of them in the same day before. We got 2 maybe 3 inches here.

Sounds like a good deal and a good idea. I've even been looking for an older/cheap RMK that I can use off trail with rp7x once or twice a year. I'd like a vintage sled too! :)

Thanks mspease. They do have a great sound - kind of like a top fuel dragster. You'll get one eventually. They can be found. Lots of repro stuff available too.

Hope others will post accounts of their first ride. Mine was one minute, sixteen seconds long but I couldn't believe how good it felt to be on snow. Man it's been a long time!
