Funny discussions about the phones. They are great tools as they are handheld computers, but it's funny that when you come up on a group of snowmobilers stopped on a trail, 1/2 of them seem to have their phones out. One of the top reasons I go snowmobiling is to get away. Not that I don't do the same thing at times - checking work email, voicemail, etc.
I use my "smart" phone to take pictures, check altitude, point at a mtn. and get the name of that mtn. to match to a map and gps. Also it has a built in compass. And with Google earth to boot! Never lost and in the Montana, idaho, Wyoming, Ontario bush it is a life saver sometimes even without a signal. Nothing like calling Jimmy Johns after a long day in the mountains, Freaky fast!!
For work it is a life saver, I have an app that lets me look into files at the office that are on Quickbooks Pro, again take pictures and email or text them to a customer or Contractor for aproval, etc. Order placing, etc. And just added from
www.Square.com is an app and a credit card reader to get payment from even the slickest of Builder/contractors. swipe them on the site, bingo payment goes to my bank for a mere 2.7% charge. And I forgot to mention the flashlight app., level app. world news, local weather and wave reports, weather radar, Accuweather and Weather channel. and the ability to FB and JDee from anywhere! Priceless!!
