funnest sled you ever owned

Most guys on this site seem older and have ridden many years and have owned many sleds. What is your all-time just plain funnest-to-ride sled of all time? Never mind costs or 2 stroke /4 stroke or reliability or any of the practical stuff. Just 'FUN' factor.

I loved my 2004 f-6 sno pro. That sled was like driving a corvette on the trails. I bought a f-7 to replace it, but ended up letting the wife drive that and I went back to the f-6.

I may revise this after I get the new RMK out of the garage.

1997 Yamaha SX 700! I was alot younger then and the less the suspension back then for me the better! Had it piped, jetted, clutched and the list went on. I loved that sled! That is until I bought and SRX 700 the next year!

My 98 SRX 700, I did everything with it, trail rode then would put the ice track on & lake race whenever I wasn't trail riding, then in the summer I would put the asphalt susp., track & skis on it and run the 1/4 mile all summer(ran 10.50 @ 120mph). In about 05 I bought a Viper and put a MPI skid relocate & 136 ext. kit on it & played inb the backcountry a little with it.

My answer was going to be each one was always fun. Because we made it fun. Going all the way back to a 16 HP Johnson Skee Horse. But after reading the posts I have to say I was the saddest when I got rid of my 98' SRX. That sled had no suspension, eat Hy Fax in 36 miles but was just plain fun!

my current sled, 2012 RMK Pro 800 155. Another was my 05 Poo switchback 600 144. and another was my "Ricky Racer" Canada trail sled a 2001 Polaris 800 XCSP. Also a ton of memories made on a 81 Scorpion Sting 440 bought new at an auction out in a hay field, it was still in the crate, I got to put it together, rode it for 2 years and made $2000 off it when I sold it.. (I was the only bidder)

For trail riding, my 2001 SX700R. LOVED that sled. Off trail, my current ride, 2012 Pro RMK 800.

1981 Yamaha 300 Enticer. Light weight, manuverable, agile, fast, and great throwing around in the fence row drifts. Did I mention reliable? And this includes having owned a brand new 2002 SRX and putting 6500 miles on it...

98' xc600 for trails. I was really starting to like my 07' summit 151 I had for all around boondockin and mountain riding, but I think I'm gonna like my 13' Pro Rmk better.

Good idea, Grub. It's great hearing the experiences of others. I'd have to say every snowmobile I've ridden has been fun. The early years included the unreliable, low horsepower Panther on ungroomed trails. We had a blast as kids on that Old Cat. The Olympic I had during my high school years was always broke but I learned to wrench and weld and keep it running, at least on the weekends...by Sunday night she'd be broken again waiting for parts or repairs. I had an Indy during the 90's, an MXZ in the early 2K's and my current sled is the 1200 4 tec from Doo. Every one of them has put a smile on my face and been the source of adventure and good times. I can't think of a better way to spend the Winter Season!

1975 Arctic Cat Z. This was a retired racing sled that a friend of mine raced at Eagle River for a few years. Only had a 3 gal. gas tank, enough to make a few very fast trips up and down the Manitowoc River near Chilton.

Those 700 motors made a lot of power, were always beating 800s.
I had a old Yamaha Phazer, that thing was a blast in the ditches.

I am going to list 3 different sleds from different eras

1. 1973 Viking Vigilante SS, had a 440 Kohler leaf blower in it and I think I put about 5000 miles on that sled over a couple of years, it had a wider front end and a rail suspension, also the first sled I rode with foot stirrups.

2. 1980 Polaris Centurion, 500 3 cylinder liquid with leaf springs, came from the factory with 24 studs right down the center. Of all the sleds I have owned this one seemed the fastest, it wasn't but with no suspension and a ski width of about 32 inches (just a guess) it really felt like you were almost flying, I did my first saddlebag trip on this sled, almost 600 miles in two days.

3. 2012 Polaris Switchback Assault, 800 Liberty twin with a 144 inch track, almost 5000 trouble free miles, just gas, add a little oil, and go. I can ride 300 miles in a day, both on and off trail and hardly tell that I have been riding. For what I do now it is almost a perfect sled. I hope to own quite a few more sleds over the next 20 to 25 years.
