1975 Arctic Cat Z. This was a retired racing sled that a friend of mine raced at Eagle River for a few years. Only had a 3 gal. gas tank, enough to make a few very fast trips up and down the Manitowoc River near Chilton.

Sweeeeeet sled! I'd kill to own one of them today. I raced a '76 Z 25 years ago.

I personal favorite was my '97 ZR580. I pounded the living shee-ot out of that sled and it just kept taking it. That was a mean trail sled in it's day. But, a very rough ride. The suspension was made to be pounded, not trail ridden.

I bought an '01 MXZ 700 Adrenaline that was just dialed in for me. I remember heading up the Bill Nichols back to South Range with buddies late on a Saturday afternoon in '03. I was skipping the tops at 60mph all the way from Mass and really didn't think much of it. When we pulled into the Wildlife Refuge cabins my buddies said they couldn't believe how relaxed I seemed while leading considering how whooped out the trail was. They said they couldn't even take their hand off the bars to give hand signals to oncoming sleds when I had no problem. I then knew I had a good one. Suspension, clutching, traction, and power....all awesome and all stock. Funnest sled I've owned and will probably ever own. 11 years later my body could not take riding that aggressively even on a modern chassis but there was something about the traditional riding position that made me feel more connected to the trail and more engaged. That equated to more fun IMHO.

For me I think it was my 94 Cougar with a 440 liquid in it, this was a good sled, very reliable and a very good engine, but when I think back my 68 Scorpion was a blast bought it new not very reliable but in those days no trails and we would try and go any
where, needless to say we were stuck all the time, oh what memories, but my favorite of all was my 81Scorpion Sidewinder favorite son has it now and is restoring it sure will be nice to see when done.

Best- 2001 ZR 600 EFI…. 1st new sled 1 owned so was like riding a corvette next to station wagons. put on 4,000 miles (that was a lot of miles back then) never had a lick of trouble

Worst- late 90's (can't remember the year) Polaris RXL…. the money I spent on fixing it I could have had 2 new ones!

Rush pro r 600 hands down most fun sled tho i may have had more fun on other sleds as a kid cause could ride around same field all day and never get sick of it. I did a lot of laps on a JDX8, Arctic Cat Pantera, and Yammi exciter. The exciter was first liquid sled and was fast for teen which = lots of fun

my 03 zr900 black magic 1010 with spray with no restrictor disks on spray tubes .
and ran the high comp inserts. spun a welded crank. so had her pined and welded. had to run c116 . was only good for 660ft at a time . but it was a heart pounder every time u pulled to the line. my cuz still has it so I still get to run it every few yrs .still a rush just before u launch and all the way to the end.
been on faster turbos but none have left the line like the a 1010 with a air box full of spray.

98' xc600 for trails. I was really starting to like my 07' summit 151 I had for all around boondockin and mountain riding, but I think I'm gonna like my 13' Pro Rmk better.

I was going to say my 98 XC600 also. What a fun sled that was, tons of low end on it. Theres actually one for sale on my way home each day and i am tempted to stop and look at it.

98 XC600 - I still have one, use it as a "2nd sled" (under 3,000 miles on it). I would entertain offers, lol. It is a very quick & fun sled for the era. I love lifting the skis going around corners!

Polaris 89 Indy 500. First year if the liquid 488 Fuji twin. Only sled I had that could pull wheelies while still being stock. Corner to corner, still one of the faster sleds I've ever ridden.

A VERY close second was the Polaris 93 XLT. First year of the monoblock triple. 3-1 pipes and that engine was music to my ears every time I rode it.

Hands down my current sled a 2010 600 etec shorty. Like I said in an earlier thread it makes me feel 10 years younger!

Back in the early 80`s I was buying sleds in the metro Detroit area and running them up north of Toronto to lake Simcoe and selling them so I had many different sleds to try out and pick from. I was taking 4 or 5 at a time and and running across 5 or 6 times a year which paid for my gas, beer and put a little money in pocket. Fun times!! One that I kept for a season was a 1975 Yamaha GP433 which was about the time sleds were getting really fun. That sled would rocket up to 70 lickity split and then eventually wind up to 85 or 90. Clutching was spot on and dependable but no trail sled for sure.........

Mark me down for the 2001 SRX. Mine had an M-10 under it and upgraded front suspension. Nothing was more fun on a smooth trail.

1980 340 Enticer. My brother and I would fight for it over the brand new 93' AC Lynx 340 with independent front suspension! That Enticer was tons o fun to rip around the local Kettle Moraine State Forest trails and an occasional race up and down the Fox River.

Wow,..
Funnest.
I would have to agree with each one had its moments!
Best memories,...
1971 Polaris 398 Charger :)
1980 Polaris 340 Galaxy :) (first sled I bought off the showroom floor!)
2012 Ski-Doo Renegade 1200 (wow) just sayin' :) still keeping the old boy in the game!

Think * Snow!

(Think,... LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of SNOW!)

1981 Yamaha 300 Enticer. Light weight, manuverable, agile, fast, and great throwing around in the fence row drifts. Did I mention reliable? And this includes having owned a brand new 2002 SRX and putting 6500 miles on it...

I understand - we had two 340 yams from I think 1980- they felt like about 300lbs and even with 1/2 lugs they seemed to go through deep snow very well- and ran forever- I noticed most guys liked their old yams best ..mmmm
