I see tonight's show is about the life of Parker's grandpa, John. He must have passed away. I really thought a lot of him!

Yes, and you'd be out of a job, with lawsuit pending.
That kid and his family bankroll the entire operation so guess who's the boss? Thing you learn over the years is, the boss gets to call the shots, and you get to execute the call, or find somewhere else to work.
And up in Alaska my guess is the economy isn't overflowing with jobs.

I love the show Gold Rush but it is painful to watch sometimes. These guys blow through a crazy amount of money and don't know when to stop. They have a ridiculous amount of overhead and just when they start to recover enough gold to pay some of their bills they go out and purchase bigger and better equipment. They pay too much attention to the amount of gold they are recovering instead of maximizing their profits. It would also appear from all of the gold mining shows that gold mining really isn't any different than a gambling addiction.

You got to admitt it is pretty darn neat to dig in the dirt with heavy equipment wash it down & recover gold. Heck I would pan rivers & creeks if I could for grins & giggles but you have to enjoy being outside. If indoor gameboy write software find your gold that way.LOL:)

I agree it would be a blast to go up there and do that. I wouldn't want to be the one footing the bill though. Seems pretty risky.

The other one that surprised me this year was Tony Beets. I can't believe he paid $1 million for the old dredge. Seems very high considering it was going to just sit there and rust. Somebody should have been paying him to haul it away. Hopefully he gets it up and running. It will be interesting to see how effective it is. I'm surprised others are not still using this dredging method. Maybe they are??

Unbelievingly simple, dig it process it in the shaker and collect gold. Expensive equipment no doubt.... My boss just said at our Christmas party that he should take a crew out west to give it a shot. I think he had some serious tone to it.

I'm hearing some of the Gold Rushers are receiving $22,000.00 per episode. I don't whom. I could speculate but that would be another hear say.
