Feed the dog a couple pieces of bread. It should work it way out. Still call your Vet.. That is long and may get stuck. I had a dog eat a large stick , and The Vet said feed him bread..

Call your vet....let him know what happened, and if things get bad, he will be right up to speed on the issue and the likely solution...if things don't take care of themselves.

One of my twin daughters swallowed a nickle about 17 years ago.... Grandma was on POOP Patrol, should have received an award for finding it !!!
Hope all turns out well. Every time I go to the VET ... It's another $150 .

The things dogs swallow
Gees, where do I start;
Thought one of my Dobes swallowed a diamond ring I dropped on the floor and couldn't find, so made the X look in his poop for days, even after I found it!
Another Dobe ate a footie sock, pooped it out whole, could have washed and wore it again.
Gus ate cigarette butts, called the Vet, he said no biggy, but I said " But may be he should wear the patch?"
One dog swallowed a small bird, pueked it up the next day, then 2 of the dogs fought over who's bird is it. Then the fur flew.
Got 2 young dogs that you don't know who to blame who chewed it til you see it come out the *** end-GUILTY PRICELESS BUSTED.
Seriously, it is not a laughing matter. Some dogs can "pass" objects. I know a friend that had her dog swallow parts of her boots and the thin laces got wrapped around the intestines and was a major surgery. Don't want to tell you this the dog died because the vet had told her he would be OK. But by the time they did the surgery, it was too late.
If you want your dog to puek right away, salt water forced down will do it, or if you know the himelik on a dog, that is the best bet. But that has to be as soon as the dog swallows something. I am certified in Pet CPR, been there done that.

It'll all come out in the end!
How is the golden? I hope no news is good news. 
We should start a thread on most unusual things our dogs have ate. Mine would be 2 one hundred dollar bills. That will teach me from laying the cash I got from selling a snowmobile on the coffee and telling him not to touch. Got it all back a few days later in about 30 pieces. Told the bank teller best to leave the taped bills in the sandwich bag.
I wish it was only that mjkaliszak, we are now into 18 weeks of chemo for our Hailey.

He's a closet pooper. Runs and hides in the woods when nature calls. Difficult to follow him around. Nice thing is we never have any "yard bombs" to clean up. Very clean dog..
It would have been best to watch where he goes to ck to see if it came out. It's possible for it to lodge in the bowels where it could cause major problems. My dog swallowed a piece of hot dog with a big fish hook in it(kids fishin). Took her to the vet where they x-rayed her and there it was, just sittin in the bottom of her stomach. They put her out and scoped and removed with the endoscope.

I had a Jack Russell that swallowed a bracelet that my daughter made for my wife using plastic beads with metallic paint. We took him to the vet and they X-rayed him to see where it was lodged. In the X-ray you could clearly read the words "MOM" on the bracelet. We never did see that bracelet ever again, He was a closet pooper also. The vet let us keep the X-ray.

Objects in the tummy
The acids in a dogs tummy can sometimes break down the things that land there. Hopefully this happened and was already past thru. This would drive me nuts not knowing if it was still in there. What did your vet say, did you do Xrays? You are very right lvyr1000, I would die to only have 150.00 vet bills, but $$ is not object when it comes to my Dobes. By the way, how is Hailey doing? Always good to hear other Dobe owners stories, since they do have medical issues that some breeds don't have, but we love them so anyway!

If it were me, I would want to know if that popsicle stick passes. I pick up poo all the time and have been amazed at what I have found.
She is doing very well. Extremely active, hard time keeping weight on her. The drugs have built up in her system and every thing tastes and smells like metal. She eats better than most people. We have to vary the food to keep her interested. What she stops eating, I take to work to eat. Yes , I eat what the dog will not. Don't feel bad for me, I am eating pork chops, steaks, roasts, chicken breasts, swiss cheese, etc. Her step brother sees this and has figured out that if he doesn't eat his dry dog food, he gets some good stuff too.
Unfortunately the metal sensation was too much last week and she ate very little. She lost too much weight (too much exploring and stalking and chasing whatever moves ) for last week's treatment, so treatments had to be delayed a week. Blood work was very good though, so the UW Doc wasn't worried. She has been eating well for the last 5 days, so treatments start again Wednesday.
