Heading up to go ATVing this weekend and next, this shut down of national parks does not mean the trails passing through the national forest are closed, right?

what ripcord posted only applied to "parks" specifically. The forest is not closed in any way. maybe less authority figures around to keep tabs on folks. Its business as usual.

As I read it--Law enforcement personnel are also furloughed. Who is going to stop you? Pretty much means people that are using facilities have to leave.

Sorry you didn't get the sarcasm. I would never do that...just sayin' I would not post on a public forum that you can do what you want because there will be no law enforcement authorities to stop you or keep tabs on folks. There's plenty of undesirables who will take notice.

I did see four DNR trucks out yesterday patrolling, not sure if they were federal or state employess though.
