yah that sounded kinda "rich and snooty". Actually nothing could be further than the truth. Dont get me wrong with all things considered in to todays world we are doing just fine but its not easy. I am lucky to have a wife that works, and has an awesome job. Kinda got me a sugar momma as she makes just more than me and my two jobs combined (and loves to remind me of it). And I have one full time(law enforcment) and a GREAT part time job that allows me to live the spoiled life that I do..... I am very blessed... I did not mean to come off like some rich kid cause that is not the case.....

Just get her the tops, and I thought my schedule was full of fun time. Don't forget a nice stone and glass backsplash to go with the tops. How long you two been married?

14 years married. Baiscally high school sweethearts. Only took the college years off as she went to one state and I went to another. Even during these "off college" years we saw each other occassionally and while in denial at that time, looking back it was obvious that we had feelings and were going to end up like we did

lots of unstated stone options not talked about.
in my parts the 2 big slab wholesalers I go to sell 2 diff grades of the same stone on lots of the popular slabs A /B / C so like poo1 was talking about uba tuba A is perfect no tinny pocks in the surface.
B would have a few tinny natural pocks per sf hard to see unless close with light shinning down on it like it would with under cab lights.
but the B option will save u 15%
C is what I see the Russians and lots of flippers and town home/apartment guys grabbing more surface imperfections but still hard to tell unless looking at 2 slabs side by side or u know the diff. but 20% or more off.

next no one talked about the 3/4 thick stone with laminated edging option.
it is somthing I use more in bathrooms more than anything.but have used in a few kitchen gigs on flips we have done and a few standard home kitchen remodels .
only place u can tell is sink cut outs and some of the grains in the stone dont line up on 1 1/2 lamanated edje but really only people in the know notice it.
in fact I was just in a 350k log shack in Alpine WY that had this style tops I pointed it out to a crew of 6 guys and no one had noticed in a week untill I pointed it out. close to 35% off the cost of 1 1/2 grade A

now lets start talking gloss or honed I would have to say over 40% of the tops I have done in the last 2 yrs the people have wanted honed and those 40% were all higher end homes.honed deff gaining steam among the fashion/designer/type clientele.
in fact just before xmass we had a job where we had done the kit less than 5 years ago they wanted the cambrea tops yanked and honed limestone put in its place.and yes I did sell the cambrea on craigs list and it did just pay for my trip west.

and indy if she can ride all day and be to excited to sleep planning the next day of boondocking snatch her up and get a ring on her black and blue knuckle she got high speed through the sumac

You got all these toys and expensive hobbies and your going to replace your laminate counter tops with "New" laminate counters?!?!

Wow and I though I was cheap (but I've got Granite in my kitchen)

any one want to talk about radon.who needs a microwave when u can just set it on your counter top.
the prius crowd always asks about radon in the tops must have been a special report on pbs
