I was gone from the 21st to the 28th...I see the chamber posted we got 7-8 inches but when I got home I had maybe 2 in the driveway? Trails were bad when I left and I dont see them improving much with what we got...

Was hoping to get in one more WI ride, but after seeing forecast I don't know we'll pull it off.
But then I see Vilas is keeping their trails open and some people posting decent riding so maybe there's hope yet.
Kids are very excited to try out new 600 ACE!

Hurley posted all trails are groomed as of this a.m and in fair to good condition. I think you could ride many areas up there back in the woods and encounter good riding until the warm up comes Sunday. I am sure any open area that was bare or town will be poor as best, but protected trail will be fair to good if not flooded. Just have to plan and be smart, typical spring riding.

Just by webcams, mercer, lando and presque isle looking pretty good at the moment and see some sleds out enjoying them. I know Florence Co N.E Wi said they are all groomed and trails rated good until warm weather hits Sunday.

The future forecast is not good, but here is for all those people that said on Monday that the season is done. We rode all of Vilas co. and 90% of the trails were near the best we have ridden this season. Flat, white and no traffic. Probably good through Sunday morning, then it will all start to go away.

WOW...Vilas is a big county but yesterday the St Germain club was recommending not to ride the trails and now today they say "riding is really not good". How far south did you travel?

I know clubs up there are honest, but always remember they live up there and are used to great trails mid week and snow covered. Just like Whitedust who gives good honest reports. In my opinion living in S. Wi and riding down here when we have snow, if they say poor for them, that means fair to me, and fair to them is good to me. Had buddies in Minocqua yesterday who said wooded trails were awesome and in towns a little snirty but not bad. Just my opinion when looking at locals reporting conditions. I would be up there riding if I was not going to the U.P next weekend. And like Renten reported people who are up there are finding great trails yet, just have to avoid the bad ones.

I only report on trails I ride same as Jim Andros and don't expect any trail report to be accurate for more than 24 to 48 hours. It was very cold last night -5 when I got up this morning. 3/4 of the Phelps trails are closed all of 17 and 6e from Military Hill is closed to Forest County and has not seen a groomer in many weeks. I'm not sure if Phelps blocked those trails as I have not been out since closure because I won't ride a closed trail and piss off a club and landowners. I have buds that live thruout Vilas and all have been parked this week. I'm sure you can find some decent sections of trails in Vilas that have been groomed and would be fun to ride. Check to see which clubs are grooming and go there those areas that did not groom will be much worse in comparison. Have fun ride safe! :)

Were inbetween Sayner& Saint Germain, It's not that bad. 80 miles yesterday no overheating a lot of carbide scraping but that's why we ride the old sleds in the spring. Most lakes are still marked and very smooth not much snow and icey.
Good riding for the diehard. If you want perfect stay home. Its all over after Sunday.......

I've found the same thing, expecting bad trails and thought they were pretty good myself.. Did you happen to ride 6 between M waters and Land O? Thinking of putting in at one end or the other.

30 miles so far conover to star lake, plenty of snow IMO 2 thin spots that's it. Trails are choppy don't know why they didn't groom, from what I've seen its ridiculous they din't put In some effort. I'm sure there's good reason on wet trails but as from my view point being a club member here and the VP of my club at home the lack of effort is disappointing.

Sorry to get back so late. rode Boulder to Manitowish Waters, down to Stillwaters,(Star Lake),Sayner then Woodruff. No St.Germain. Everything we rode was very good. Weekend traffic will change all of that.

I heard that Presque Isle had open water and with lack of snow I was nervous about that plowed road section toward Land o. I think that is 5a, but if you stayed on 6 east to 13 then up to Land o,that might be OK.

I have a cabin near St Germain. I did not ride the trails but looking from the road, they look terrible. Just left there Saturday. Bare dirt on most trails near the road.
