Group ran into the Hoop??

slim- like I said- I was there the day after (it happened at like 1am or whatever, and we were at the hoop approx 12 hrs later) and we didn't see any DNR. We rode through the town, up to the gas station, etc. You'll be fine as long as you're not a moron who drives across a 13 mile long lake and smashes into the bar at the other side. Make sure your stickers are displayed, go the speed limit (if in town), and stop at the stop signs- and have fun. We were just up there last weekend and had a blast and had no issues.

The one who stopped me never took their ski mask off but sure had a manly voice.
But here's the thing.
The guy who got the next (numerical sequence) ticket written exactly 20 minutes after mine also went into the Hoop. So we're talking about it and taking pictures of the two tickets. I get back to the cabin and realize I got his ticket and he's got mine!

I assume it was the same warden, but maybe not.

Quick question..whatever happened with the ticket swap??

What happened to the other 5 snowmobilers that were with the man that crashed by the Hoop? Last time I checked, when one guy is drinking then heading 100mph across the lake at 1:00am, the other 5 with him usually are too. Just curious as to the rest of this outcome.

You guys are making me nervous. Just booked a trip to gogebic the end of feb. I have never (knock on wood) seen any law enforcement in the UP in all my trips up there. Are you saying they are out in full force?? I don't ride wasted but like to have a couple beers then ride for a few hours then a couple more and repeat. What are the speed limits or other rules I should be aware of?? Thanks

Repeat what? Sooner or later you will be lit up. Idiots like you are ruining it for the rest of us that wait until after the riding is over to tip a few. After you get popped or crash then you will get it, dumbass.

Really

I think in high school health class they taught us that it takes one hour for your body to get rid of one beer/shot ect. If we have a couple of beers and then ride for a couple hours, huh let me do the math on this!! You two guys shouldn't even bother posting on this thread. We do wait until the end of the day to get after it, I just was asking a couple of questions on what to be aware of. I already have a Mom, I don't need 2 more!! Geez. It was going so well. Let me guess you two guys have lots of friends and social plans don't ya.......

we heard about the speed limit on lakes as well when we were in Bergland a few weeks ago. The person we were talking to said is was all inland lakes not just Gogebic. 50 or 55 mph day and night. Someone on this board should know more than I do. Only get to the area once or twice a season.

Wow, talking about pure alchohol takeover. Was he on his sled backwards too when he hit the table? If you can't handle the booze, get some treatment. I will not ever ride with people who think they are superman or super bo-zo's

clearly- fusion & roundhouse are of the 'zero tolerance' camp. They believe you should not have one drop of alcohol while riding/driving. Unfortunately guys- the law disagrees with you. I don't want to turn this thread into the drinking/driving- have a few/ have none argument (lord knows there have been 10 thousand of those already on this board). But I don't think it's fair to call a guy a dumbass for doing what the majority (I have eyeballs, I loook around when at stops out riding) of people do. That is- have a beer (maybe two) and then go ride for another 3-4 hours. Have one more beer. Ride for two more hours, etc. That is not 'drunk driving' and never will be. A beer or 2 in a 200lb man who just scarfed down an order of cheese curds & a burger might as well have been water. Until the laws change- I wouldn't be calling people names for doing nothing wrong. Of course- it's a free country so you're entitled to your opinion. Just not a nice thing to do to a total stranger who you know nothing about. He could be the perfect picture of safe riding- but b/c he has a beer or two during the day you've labeled him a dumbass who is going to crash and hurt himself one day.

Back to the topic SkiDude- I believe it said the rest of the riders in his group were found at a bar shortly after. Geniuses probably went ALL the way to bergland bay bar or something in town to hide out. I just can't believe they left him there to save their own butts. Classy.
