I just read that the Dreamland trail is marked across the ice to Dollar Bay. I know there isn't as much current but it is the same body of water...

This is no time to be on any ice. Portage Lake/The Canal has some spots that open up very easily and withought much help. Right across from the Dee Stadium nearest the other shore there is a small point that comes out from Julios proper that is very dangerous. Then just west of the lift bridge there is a sharp point that comes out that has a water navigation marker on it that is a bad area.

Out at my lake, Sandy Lake, my daughter was out on the ice right by one of our docks and wentertainment through the ice.

Some fool drove his car out on Long Lake in N Lower 2 days ago. Both guys made it out alive. Not the same outcome today for a snowmobiler on the same lake.

Just plain drunk, or fools
