The meth cook cabin could make sense - that is something I did not think of. When we came back, we did not have any sleds in the trailer so we could not follow any tracks. But it is something we thought of.

yes people will say I full of it but I have tracked sleds and which direction they were headed and which way they went at an intersection...even if other sleds went and came over the tracks in areas....and whether its fresh or old....plus...they probably were really close and didn't have to go far

I have seen unscrupulous sledders...EXAMPLE the guys that sell you a tv that fell off the truck guys....they go sledding and purposely go looking for new belts at bars and anything they can find...and not necessarily for the money either....at one time I had an alarm and a car ignition and a brake lock and a motorcycle lock wrapped around the tracks when we parked at the strip clubs and what not...there are many not nice dudes out there of all kinds

Theives? It's I before E, except after C, and when sounding like A, as in neighbor, and weigh, and on weekends, and holidays, and all throughout May, and you'll always be wrong NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY!

Chords I think you meant snobuilder and your computer got the best of you. Mine likes to change words around too.

SJB sorry for your rotten luck. I'll agree with most people on this Web site that I believe most snowmobilers would go out of their way to help each other. Sometimes life just sucks. Have locks on every corner of our two place, but the front small hatch door didn't have a key when we bought it used. The tie downs and jack go in the truck when we leave it somewhere. Came back once to the tie downs not stolen, but used to cause property damage the night before. Luckily we were on camera at a casino 160 miles from the trailer. They caught the local kids that did it.

You just can't seem to always trust people even though you want to.

I though I would share my story I heard about around 25 years ago. Back in the day when I used to ride in the Minocqua Wi. area I was on a trip with a guy that went to school with an owner of a snowmobile rental company. He had some stories to tell, 1 of them was about people stealing snowmobiles off lake Minocqua. There was a bar on the lake where a lot of snowmobilers would go to. There would be many snowmobiles parked on the lake. Supposedly the story goes that 2 people on a thundercat would drive by a snowmobile that they wanted, would use a hook to grab onto the skis, drag the sled as fast as they could go to the other side of the lake where a enclosed trailer would be waiting for them. They would quickly load up the sleds & be gone before anyone knew what happened.
All happening in a matter of minutes.

hate to say it, but if stolen, I can call my insurance and all is taken care of, minus deductible. Here, it does not make sense to make a claim and I am simply SOL. Have not heard of sleds being fully stolen in awhile, but I am sure it still happens.
