On the bright side, 40,000 some odd people showed up to try and buy snowmobile stuff. In this ecconomy that has to be a plus.

A girl told her grandpa they should let people park in their fields around 9:30, grandpa said no but 10 min later she had a sign outisde with $10 spray painted on it. I bet they made $5000...

My buddy, who lives 2 miles away, made $600 for 3 hours of driving people back to their cars at $5 a crack.

That is exactly my sentiment.
Let's hope that the sport is headed in a good direction.

BTW, it was pretty fun once you did get into the grounds. We went both days. It was almost as much work as riding the sled.:)

lots of people but I did notice allot of sleds still sitting around on the big lots and did not see a whole lot of sleds leaving on trailers.I was thinking when walking around guys are not buying the toys but more the accessories and parts to keep em going.one cool thing 137mph 500ft 4 sec go Glenn

We only waited 1 1/2 hours in line and did make it to the parking lot! Best part was hooking up with friends, good chilli Frank and Angie, was nice to see Justin, Roscoe and families! Ran into only a few people we knew. Will say it was not a good experiance for most that could not find parking, which to me was the biggest issue next to 1 way in 1 way out. Community goverments should have allowed parking in private owners land at a reasonable rate, $500 was a bit steep for a permit. After all what $'s were made by the local folks only goes back into their communities. This event like all others helps many communities all along the way of the travelers, we made at least 4 stops on the way to the event, stayed 2 days, ate out 2 days but only went 1 of the 2 days to the event, just couldn't see trying it again the next day, must admit we didn't buy alot either as it wasn't worth hauling items around or miles back to your truck. Hoping for the SnoBarons that it can be fixed with all the bad issues, as the spot was nice for viewing the main events,to see their club house area which was really nice. But it will take alot of reviewing what went wrong and how to fix it. Parking,in out access, swap meet vendor areas, more porta johns, and more food courts were the main issues that I saw. Would hope that the SnoBarons respond to this web site as well as others like HCS, etc. an apology, explaination, future plans, and updates can go along way for many. But many felt burned and has left a bad memory in their minds. Can't change the past but sure can learn from it!

Nice summary loriwlrc! I agree 100% We had a good time once we got in, but didn't buy anything big because we did not want to haul it the 1.5 mile hike back to our truck.

There were some awesome deals on trailers if anyone was looking for an enclosed trailer. The RC track was pretty cool to watch as well. Having beer tents on each side of the commercial vendor area was good as well. Made it a whole lot easier to wet your whistle.

Lineshack always does a nice job there. Having a Bloody bar is always nice!

Sunday was the day to be there. I like the new layout and having tree to sit under when I ate me lunch was great. By the end of the day I saw many sleds and big things leaving on trailers. I like that they had a area to put the stuff you bought and didn't have to worry about it until the end of the day. After the mixed up start on Sat things worked out well for the first run at the new location.

I agree with 01mndoo Sunday was a great day to be there.

parking went smooth, no one got stuck.....the most you had to wait was 10 min. to get in.

Yes i was also there on Sat and agree that every thing that could have possibly went wrong DID!

Yes I will be back next year!

The highlight for us was winning Factory Mod 2 and bringing home some new "hardware" for the trophy shelf! One 1st, one 2nd and three thirds. We also seen two new world records set on some crazy fast sleds!

Being that we were in the pits all weekend long, we seen the steady flow in and out of the swap/shopping area. I realize everyone has their complaints and their issues about parking, wait time, etc...but we seen ALOT of people walking out with bags full of goodies, and many items going out on trailers. This is the first year for snobarons at the new facility and I would agree that the issues they faced were a great problem to have. To see this kind of turn out at an event is amazing right now. At our awards ceremony Sunday night they talked about all the issues, and what they will do to improve them next year. Can't wait!!! :)

X2. Must have been fun and challenging to run that track. It looked pretty smooth, with good hookup off the line.

I thought it was kinda interesting how the pits were in that location. We almost walked right in after parking on Sunday.

It was great to be able to get around the new grounds without so much congestion. I liked the swap layout with some of the vendors mixed into the swappers. I assume it had not been planned that way, but it worked well.

The on-site storage was brilliant. I wish we had know about that in advance. It was easy to get to the gates later in the day Saturday. We would have bought more if we had known we did not need to drag the stuff around all day. I hope they offer this option again next year and put a pod close to a gate or create a special pickup area. Just drive by and load up.:)

Overall, the new site was more fun and efficient once inside.
