Heads up for IL sledders who tow

Here is a question, could you ever get ticketed in Wisconsin for an Illinois truck pulling a trailer with no plate? My boat trailer is never coming back but I have two sled trailers and at least one will come back to help move and I know I would get hit as soon as I came back into Illinois with it as last time I was caught in two hours as I did not have the current sticker on it, so I have to renew at least one, just considering not doing both. I figured we had at least 5+ years left but now we are thinking about doing it a lot sooner.
No. WI doesn't enforce IL laws.

Thanx SledTL and srt20...

.I'm not trying to dodge anything IF I was using it here but this trailer was on the road here once in the last three years and I kept it active as it was cheap just in case I needed to bring it back. Heck I have been giving them 100+ for the car I have had in storage for years, mainly to keep my personalized plate and to be ready to take out in the summer which just hasn't happened and even that is going up at least 50. So I have been giving this state a lot of fees for access to roads that I have not used but no credit for that of course...

Just to clarify, it is a smallish boat? Boat and trailer under 3500LBS? If so no problem. Over that, especially a double axle trailer, then it opens another can of worms.

Just a 14fr. The boat will never see Illinois ever since I bought it here and took directly up north and registered it in Wisconsin, trailer no registration needed a win for me.
