Heard a rumor from a pretty good source.

Got a report from our morning coffee group who I trust completely that the Munising trails were even better yesterday........maybe that confab had a positive effect. We can but hope...........

Great news! It sounds like your efforts may be paying off up there. Now keep the pressure on and don't let them slip back again. :)

We will have to make negative posts continually. It seems that and pestering Lansing are the only things I have done.

I've been looking at the trail report from the Cat Dealer in Wetmore.
Their last post was 2-28
The Munising Travel site only listed that they were grooming, no trail conditions.

Along with some new groomers and trail reports, I've just about given up wanting to go there for one last ride this year.

We went up Friday night and came home on Wednesday. This is my 4th trip to the Munising area of the year and I can say this was by far the best riding all year. The large dump of snow sure helped, but we seen the groomers frequently and it sure seemed they were putting in a better effort. Unfortunately when we left on Wednesday things were looking gloomey. It was very warm and the trails were getting very soft. Sadly I think those trails are about done with this warm weather. :(

Good plan........the rain and warm temps (50 yesterday) have absolutely killed the trails......if it improves any at all I'll post......but don't hold your breath.....forecast for weekend is sun and high 40's to 50......if that happens we are truely done.....:(

. MI DNR, and MI DEQ (Dept. of Environmental Quality......the organization that DNR falls under).

Where do people get info like this..."the MI DNR falls under the MI DEQ" They are SEPARATE Agencies. The DNR and DEQ was going to merge, then Gov Snyder kept them as separate agencies. However, I have friends in the DEQ that would LOVE to think the DNR is 'under them.' Got a good laugh anyway.

Well you must know more than the people that set up the DEQ website then because they clearly list the DNR Law Enforcement and Investigations UNDER one of their divisions on THEIR website.......but what do I know......I had to look it up to begin with.............

But back to the discussion about the trails..........I took one last ride Saturday morning (a little over 100 mi.) and STILL, the Munising trails were as good as I have EVER seen them.....so "whatever agency" must have some clout when it comes to this...........

Superior Club grooming was fantastic this season in spite of the warm weather- those trails were great. The trails in the in the entire Keewenaw were by and large excellent, except Lac La Belle to Gay (just not enough snow in that stretch). I didn't ride it - just the word of some non-whiners who did do it and said it wasn't pretty. The trail from Vansville to Gay though was excellent as always.
