HEAT in your gas?

Interesting to think about this. I see a couple of senarios. If your car is parked outside in the cold wouldn't the water (if any) be frozen? If you parked in a heated garage each night, if there were water it could melt and cause an issue, but with most fuel now having 10% ethanol in it, why would you need to add more alcohol? I am kind of amazed the product still sells as much as it does.

HEET is to displace the water that is found in underground tanks, especially ones that dont get used a lot. I put it in sometimes and sometimes not. When I had my sled parked outside in Houghton for 5 months during the winter I never had a water in the gas problem. The problem with todays sleds is they measure gas going in so much better, but then again when's the last time you put HEET in a car? I wouldn't think you would need it. As an example I found a gallon gas can that was half full that I had left outside all winter, this was in Houghton. I put it in my truck because I thought I wasn't going to make it to the gas station, no problems.

X2 on the Sea Foam. Although at the start of winter I still runa can of heet through the vehicles. Probably just an old practice from my dad but peace of mind.

Like said above 10% ethanol is enough. I would only add ISO or Sea Foam if I thought I got some bad gas . Another rec would be " NOT " to fill up when the tanker is filling the station pumps. Maintaining Good fresh gas is about as Good as it gets.

Tell me why so many small engines, like snowblowers, were froze up the first time we needed them even though we did our Fall prep? I would suppose most had ethynol in gas. I think Iso Heet is needed in the first tank in the Fall.

I don't know what your fall prep is but fresh gas is best. To each their own. I burned my leaves with 3 year old case of ISo HEET. If you had phase seperation or water or whatever and didn't dump it out well then .... Add all the alcohol you need . I'm just saying fresh gas is best. I don't want to get into a dissortation over additives.... I'm saving all my mental faculties for the Sea & Snow threads. Mix up a brew if it works for U. ( Startron, marine stabil, reg stabil, Iso heet, )

Indy, are you going to the races at all in St. Germain? I'm thinking I might put around there today & sun.:D

I thought about that. I will probably be going to the snowmobile hall of fame in St. Germain. Aren't the races this weekend the bikini drags?

Now you'll probably start to understand why people expect new sleds not to break on trips.

:D :D :D The $25 i recieved from xcr440 from the windy i sent him, i gave to my dad for gas this weekend, i've already far exceeded that ;)

Wooha, hope you weren't planning your trip around the sale of that! Good to hear you got it.

BTW, just remember, everything you pour in your tank besides gas displaces the gas, and that leans out the fuel going into the motor.
