HEAT in your gas?

BTW, just remember, everything you pour in your tank besides gas displaces the gas, and that leans out the fuel going into the motor.

Good point, this includes if you add extra oil into your fuel tank. I recall dealers telling you to do that on a new sled, but now they don't recommend it.

You need to premix the gas on a brand new sled not only to break in the motor and seat the rings, but because your oil pump might not be working 100% right away.

I use 91 octane minimum with no ethanol. Every 3rd or 4th fill up, I'll pump a gallon of 89 octane 10% ethanol in. I use the 10% kind of like in the olden day's of isopropyl - just on occasion. I've seen too many sleds burn down because of alcohol. Be careful about too much of the hot stuff, but water is no good either. When was the last time you heard of a car with a frozen gas line - before ethanol is was very common when we saw below zero temps.

Strange that the website in the link above indicates Sea Foam has alcohol in it. My bottle of Sea Foam states, "A 100% pure petroleum product..."

I will keep using it with E-10 gas. Am trying Startron in my boat this year also.

statron starbrite, hands down the best additive to put in your gas, i use it in my 4 wheeler, sleds, boat, look it up and read the pros of adding startron to your gas, it was tested and will keep your gas fresh for up to 2 years and also keep water out, they have a good write up on there site, check it out http://mystarbrite.com/startron/

On that site:
http://www.fuel-testers.com/is_gas_additive_safe_with_e10_list.html

If you go down that page to the "Notes" section and at the very bottom is a Note #2 where they state that the Seafoam MSDS states IPA in the ingredients, which is commonly known as Isopropyl Alcohol.

What I find interesting is the Seafoam Company wouldn't respond to Fuel-Tester's request for additional information-what's to hide?

Also, has anyone seen or tried the new CRC product PhaseGuard4?

And it looks like E15 is coming, as if E10 isn't bad enough:

E15 Not is Off Road Vehicles

In the website posted above, it indicates E15 will not be allowed for use in snowmobiles. This is good news and I would think insure that most gas stations will continue to supply E10 gas for use in the non E15 approved vehicles. Here is the quote below.

"What Vehicles and Engines May Not Use E15?
All motorcycles.
All vehicles with heavy-duty engines, such as school buses, transit buses, and delivery trucks.
All off-road vehicles, such as boats and snowmobiles.
All engines in off-road equipment, such as lawnmowers and chain saws.
All MY2000 and older cars, light-duty trucks, and medium-duty passenger vehicles (SUVs)."
