OK, my patience is running about as thin as our snow cover. It's time for us to settle into the heart of "Winter", which to me & the rest of the members & visitors to this site means good old fashion "SNOW" & lots of it.;) So lets have it Meester, hit us with your best shot & make it count & for the long haul. HEERE BLEEZARD BLEEZARD!!!!!! Think Pink!-Mezz

May favorite is: "Attention...Due to the heavy snowfall that is ongoing, Keweenaw County has pulled it's snowplows off the highways...Motorists should be aware of rapidly accumulating snow on all roadways and the potential for getting stranded until the storm subsides and plows can safely return to their duties."

Only happened twice since I have lived here and both were doozies for sure! Takes one heck of a storm to sideline those boys!

Awesome Steve! The first time I got wind of this happening, I thought someone was joking with me, but then got in my truck, left my sheltered location here in the woods and tried to get to the highway around 1/2 mile away. Things were so nasty I turned around! It's amazing how a nasty snowstorm up here can put the fear of God into someone driving a big old 4WD pickup only 1/4 mile from home.

I have vowed the next time something like this is predicted, I will do nothing but get in the car and drive north.

We were staying in Eagle Harbor and decided to pay Jerry and Judy a visit....on SNOWmobile. By the time we had hit the Central Road (gaining elevation) we couldn't see the front of our sleds. No exaggeration. I know that trail WELL and drove off the side twice...and got stuck both times. After traveling about 3 miles in 45 minutes, we decided that the beer would taste just as good...if not better...at Eagle Harbor Inn. I've never seen anything quite like that before. And as I recall, the day before was dry pavement!

See Mezz, that's all it took, is for you to call out old man winter! What took so long?!;)

I called him out to play on Nov 20th, he did show up a few day's later. To no avail, this past week we had a stretch of crapola that wiped most of our cover out. So, another shout was in order, as such, here we are, patiently awaiting the arrival once again, and hopefully for the long term this time.-Mezz
