Help...need to lose 10 lbs.

Going to Mexico in a month and need to drop a few lbs. I coach 2 youth traveling basketball teams, work through lunch and can't seem to squeeze in a decent work out. Any dieters out there with suggestions or even safe diet pill takers? All in all I'm in pretty good shape but the Holiday season was tough on me this year! :)

go with titanium springs,engine parts,handlebars,slide rails,shafts and nuts and bolts and u can shave 50 lbs easily ! or eat cabbage soup for a week .lol!

If you do not eat breakfast, I would suggest that you start. But eat a healthy breakfast. Oatmeal with fruit every damn morning. It will lower your cholesterol and that morning meal gets your metabolism rolling for the day. Carry a sack lunch for work and stick to eating what you bring. You don't need to eat watercress and boiled cabbage to get down there. Ever try a spin class at the local Y or gym? Our YMCA has one at 0530 every other day. You are done by 6:15 and you get one helluva workout in those. I was doing them for 11 months, but can't get into this one now. Too many people signed up before I did. So, now I have to wait until early March.

Whom are you going to try and impress while you are there? Running is your best bet to loose weight, but you may have waited to long. Ubee's soup is probably your best bet.

All the "fad diets" do is drop your water wieght. After those first few margaritas on the beach your 10 will go right back on. The only way to safely lose wieght is to count calories. Study after study has been done to find a "magic bullet" to wieght loss and the only answer that keeps comming up is calories in vs. calories out. Really watch your food lables and try to find foods that fill you up without all of the calories. Diet pills are not safe because all they do is raise your heart rate. Your heart is a muscle and when it beats faster it works harder and is burning more calories in the process, they do not "boost your metabolism". Maximum safe wieght loss is about 2 pounds per week. Watch your labels and you should do fine. Good luck and have fun on your vacation!

Accurate advice. I've been a hobbyist bodybuilder for many years and I can tell you it is ALL about calorie intake and when. You could work out 12 hrs a day and still not lose weight if you eat like crap. Timing is essential too, 5-6 small meals per day, evenly spaced, nothing AT LEAST 2hrs before bed. It is truly amazing on how little calories you can function completely normal if they are quality calories. Don't know your body type, but average 200 lb man can diet with 1500-2000 calories and be just fine. Diet pills are bull. Weight will come off very quickly at first, all water. Losing fat takes time.

Why is timing important? I never understood how timing factors into the calories in vs calories out equation. Probably why I need to lose 25 lbs. Is there an impact on metabolism?

Or you can just stop eating as much as you normally do, or when you're done eating go puke it up isn't that what the really skinny Hollywood folks do? Later yo!

I had the same excuses as you and then my back went out. After getting it straighten back out again I've been using my breaks at work to take a brisk walk then throw down the yoga mat and do some stretches and push up kind of stuff. Seems to be helping and I can do it all in the office.

Timing is importaint because if you eat more, and smaller meals your body will keep up with the calorie intake and not crave that big meal where you have the opportunity to overeat. You have the tendancy to intake more calories with 3 large meals rather than 5 smaller meals. Also, Powrench, new studies show that eating before bed does not cause weight gain. The theory of "you do not burn calories durring sleep so you automaticly gain whatever you ate before bed" has been disproven. Calories are calories no matter what time you intake them. Where people gain by eating right before bed is actually what they eat. Normally the "bedtime snack" of cookies and milk or some other high calorie snack adds significantly to your intake for the day. If you eat something before bed, it has no more impact then that same snack at noon. You just have to make good choices and maybe a few sacrifices for that month before your trip.

A guy I work with has lost 80 lbs in 3 months on this super whey protein diet his doctor gave him. For breakfast and lunch mix 1.5 scoops of whey protein with 8 oz of milk and follow up with 16 oz of water. For dinner you are allowed 4-6 oz of Chicken, Turkey or Fish and a side of green vegetables and a fruit. Water to drink if you get hungry in between meals. He said he dropped 15 lbs in the first week of this diet.

Drink a big glass of water before you eat any meal. You won't eat as much and you will still get full. Simple and healthy. Worked for me.

I lost 40 lbs. doing nothing but Nordic Track and Bowflex. Didn't really make any dietary changes other than eating more regularly, but I didn't cut anything out (maybe it would have happened sooner if I had). No, it didn't happen overnight (took about a year and a half), but seven years later, the pounds are still off.

Come to the UP and go snowshoeing for two days in a row you will lose ten pounds. In fact I better listen to my own advise. Working in this gas station I can see the cook, not good for my belly size.
I know, do what I did in high school wrestling just sleep in plastics with two quilts over you with the heat on high and do not drink a thing. Ten pounds overnight.
