Boondocker, Silber, etc all make turbo kits for 2s.
Bud has a BD on a Pro. Works awesome. Same power at 12k as sea level. No need to change anything, clutching, fuel, etc. 190hp on pump gas, 220+hp with AV gas added to pump gas. Net weight gain of 10-15lbs after install and removal of stock stuff. Engine gets opened often and precisely measured. Wearing much better/slower than stock. 2 years on it so far.
No need to wait....


He has a 400+hp Nytro that hasnt been ridden in 2 years. The Pro is just to much fun. He bought his wife an Axys RMK. Probably have a turbo before long...

If a buying decision is made regarding dead bench press weight then ok with me buy the sled you can manage to horse around your garage...My preference is how the sled handles on long big mile day trips for 8-12 hours & bench lift on any day should not exceed more than 1 or 2 minutes....big deal...don't care. I know 3 Yamaha Apex riders that use dollies on every ride & I have seen them move their sleds no fuss ...no grunting put dollies on front skis & drive & park. Why lift any sled?.... much better ways than bench press. If stuck in deep snow good luck they all suck to dig out and again better to know easiest way to free from trench than brut strength. To each his own... if dead weight is important to ya don't consider a 4s never going to be lighter than 2s.:)

I move many many Yamaha sleds around the shop all the time. I also move many poo's in the same manner, no doubt the Yammi's are heavier but for someone to use the weight when moving it around a garage is just plain ridicules, I've heard it all now. I guess they never heard of shop dollies, lift up a ski and slip the dollie in, same with skid.

God, I wish I didn't have to see the same ole same ole gibberish that you replied to when I have that person blocked. Big long mile days blah blah blah. I don't care about weight blah blah blah. I don't want 120 HP but I don't want 200 hp either blah blah blah. There should be an internet law against this sheet. SMH..

Why anyone would want to bust their nuts moving sleds is beyond me too Lenny. I learned to move sleds just like you. BUT ....apparently some members can't handle the dead weight & can't deal with it as they posted. Seems silly to me too but to each his own. lol... Dollies & carts worth every penny.:)

Just checked & noticed multiple post deletions.... oh well lol.

In my last house I tried to use dollies no matter what sled I had because of the carbides and picks cutting into the concrete.

I do the same in my own garage and inline trailer.....the Yamahas are back breakers compared to the Poo AXYS.....easily 120#'s..... Mostly noticeable in the trailer where the ice is built up in the tunnel of the Yamahas.

With Yam's, The chassis are as substandard, as the motors are great.

I got to admit....before this new 850 was introed as being as reliable as a 4 stroke ....with what looks to be the engineering needed for longevity....Doo wasn't even on my radar.

Problem is, it takes 3 seasons of miles to find out how well it will hold up just as the new Polaris 800 HO is building a new rep of reliability since introed.


The new 2 strokes don't have to actually be good for 50,000 miles like a Yamaha 4 stroke to impress a sledder. By the time even a hard core high mile trail pounder reaches 10 to 20K miles the new stuff has their 4 or 5 year old sled looking like it needs to be replaced.
Not being toast at 3-5000 miles is a good 1st step for the new 800's from Poo and hopefully the 850 Doo....we all win if that be true.

I didn't see a track length or lug height in the article; the Poo had a 144 with a 1.75 or 2 inch lug (likely). This can add to the "feeling" of power vs. another sled when comparing.

By the way, that article didn't exactly "get back to the new Doo's" as it was 99.5 about Polaris.

I agree. the poo "felt" more powerful. yup thats what happens when you have deep lugs and low gearing. A summit feels more powerful than a mxz everytime. Put them side by side and the mxz slingshots by it, baring deep snow conditions.

I expect the 850 to be at least a few sled lengths ahead of a good running 800etec.

But the chassis improvements are what i am most excited about. I havent had any issues with the rotax 800s so i expect the same from that, but as far as sitting on this thing, it feels like a dirtbike, so narrow in comparison to the XS. I cant wait till next winter!
