Love the idea of the new 200. Fill a big void. I wonder if the other 3 will follow suit??
800 C-TECH2 should be awesome. As the 600 version is a great motor.

Out of all the pictures country cat put up of the new sleds, on their fb page, the little 200 got the most comments. I think it will be a huge success, as long as the price is reasonable.

I have always thought that the money for the 120's and now the 200's is steep. There is market for sure but I would rather spend $400 on a older smaller sled that runs to let the kids beat around on. I mean by 6-8 years old both boys were driving full size sleds. But there many people I am guess who are going to snatch up the 200.

The Snoscoot is back as well

$3789 for something that they will outgrow in two years? Maybe. I don't know what to think. It will either be a boom or a bust. Around here older XC 500's are gold. That is what folks buy their kids. For about 1500 bucks.

Maybe.
It reminds me how BRP tried to bring out the entry level "Spark" watercraft; it was choice of a 600 or 900 ACE motor and was about 3-4k less than the big rides. Well, it bombed and you can buy one cheap; only a matter of time before all the spare parts are built into machines and the line is discontinued.

Sleds and watercraft are dying sports (expense and weather dependent) I agree with the other guys, buy a used sled and have kids learn on those.

that's not true about the Spark. Sales of the spark jumped 35% in its second year. Also Spark can be $10,000 cheaper then other models. While not the biggest seller of the lineup. It does fill a void. And I'm not sure about PWC sales dying. Last year was PWC sales best year since the Great Recession.

I forget what Sparks began selling for when they were first released but new two year old ones can be had for 4,995 if you look; old Yellow does not have a history of depreciating that quick so I see it as a dead product to me. I also laugh at the "Scarab" line; yuk and more accelerated depreciation, it is not for me, I like some value with my purchases.

As an FYI; I buy a new Doo each year so I am a BRP supporter. This year, my 850 Renegade cost me abut $980 in depreciaiton to ride about 1,050 miles, now that is value!

One thing for sure. The more you spend the more you loose. Buy a left over for 1500 less than new and you will loose 1500 less when its junk.

There is definitely a need for entry level sleds but, as others have stated, it will be a tough sell at $4000 when they will outgrow it. What about a full sizes chassis w/a 440 fan? At least then you could use it as a spare for adults. The Jags, Lite's, Phazers and Formulas are long in the tooth but, still in demand.

I love that ZR 200! Now, how about an inexpensive Panther ($5000) for young families who can't afford, (and dont want) to ride over 60 mph for 200 miles per day. I applaud the manufactures for trying (again) to draw more families into the sport. But unfortunately what we really need is a place to ride them without getting blown off the trails.

Totally agree no way I take my gkids on WI or UP trails with a 200 they would get blown off.. poop their pants & scare them. It would have to be a controlled enviroment so they could be safe. Maybe a lake with me close by or my own land under a watchful eye. To me the 200 is nothing more than a yard toy and expensive one at that.
