Nice.

If you need some steep crazy stuff but it is kind of dangerous and cautiously pre-riding should be done, try some of the stuff about 3 miles in after you hit Ontonagon county on trail 3. You'll know you are there when you hit the first deep gully and you should probably backtrack a little, hit the poleline and explore right of the poleline/northwest. It's pretty epic. If they logged just s little it would be one of the most epic places to ride in the midwest.
Anyways, have fun in Donken, there are some sweet places to ride there.
I'm kinda bummed someone privatised the Shawmut Creek access near Twin lakes because that was miles and miles of nicely logged fun terrain with a easy way in to the good backcountry.

Well, now that you posted that, pole line by Pike Lake, the "not a lot of people ride it" statement will change. Lol.

Maybe?

If it gets overrun I can always seek my kicks somewhere else. There is a lot of snow and a lot of places to go. The weekend tourist crew doesn't have the time I have to find places to go so it's all good.
It looks like maybe about a dozen sleds have been down the Pike Lake pole line so far not idea how far they ventured. I think, somehow, I'll be able to enjoy it without getting run over by someone in a pokadot unisuit w/matching wrap running a 140db can off of a 240 hp 850.

Last two days we had temps in the forties. I must say I loved it. Maybe I will only have to shovel my roof once this year.

Still plenty of snow to play in. Instead of 4 feet on the ground there is 3 feet.

Green Bay pretty brown after today and, there go the early season dreams of riding out my back yard to Eagle River, WI like last year.
It's like that old saying here; "If the trails ain't open in G.B. by Super Bowl, they ain't opening".

On a positive note, saw combines out getting corn the last two days.

Yah and doesn't look good for weekend either......ughhh. But they'll keep mentioning how we've had 20" snow already this year. I should just give up until I can move closer to snow country.

What's un-normal about what I've said?

"Boondockers" think their play areas are top secret and nobody's ever been there before......... That and it's sacrilege to talk about.

.......now that you know all you need to find out is the secret hand shake to be "club member.":p

Theres always something new over the next hill in the forest and seeking that is what I'm into.
It's the reason that I trout fish. I guess catching a few trout is a bonus but sitting with my son on a steep moss covered bank that was seeping out 40 degree water like a natural air conditioner looking up at the virgin cedar trees is what it's really about to me.

" looking up at the virgin cedar trees "

Cedar trees create a natural vortex that gives off energy to those who take the time to look, listen, smell and willing embrace that and absorb it mentally.

Well said. It's about the adventure, what's around the next corner, over that next ridge, if we drop in, are we getting out? Lol.

The upcoming weekend went from Snow and mid thirties to Rain and mid forties

Oconto County is getting uglier by the hour

Everyday I drive by the new Kens Sports off the highway and I think to myself , I am glad they won’t open until spring

Strange how the temps today on Christmas are only topping out around 36, but it seems the melting is going on much more than a few days ago when we had temps in the low forties. There is much more dripping from my roof than a few days ago, and the ice on my porch just slid off real easy today. I think the dense fog has something to do with it plus with all this fog the temps and cloud cover prevent the temps from dipping below 32 at night.

Snowpack temperature.

I’m not John Dee though, so I’ll let John Dee explain if he gets around to it.

really..do u not remember our original arguments?

we didnt even think u rode..now ur some awesome outbacker..i believe u but..u were acting like a ......

You've got to stop using terms like "we" and exaggerating because I don't think I'm some awesome anything it's just what I prefer to do instead of riding the trails, which are boring to me after they are rode once, nothing changes.
You can keep pecking away at me, calling me names, etc., it is somewhat amusing watching your consistent butthurt over nothing much at all.
Believe what you want to believe and act like you need to towards me. Your comments and behavior kinda cracks me up.

I'm not here trying to change the status quo.

Back on topic! John's new forecast is really depressing for our area! Looks great for other areas. I can't believe (actually I can) how our awesome start has been ruined by this weather. We really needed some fresh snow but looks like mostly rain now. :(
