It's too bad no forecast from John today as everything I'm seeing this morning is pointing to a change for the better for us. I'm seeing highs for Spooner, WI on the 31st from 18-24 degrees and snow! I sure hope John agrees on Monday as he is the most accurate IMO.

It's going to be a lonnnnnnnnnnnng weekend waiting to see if the rain is going to move south or not. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Things seem to be looking better. Man I hope John has better news Monday as it looks like the others are showing better and better. I'm sitting in the Dallas area now checking the weather even more than if I were at home. Will be to the Yoop for the first riding of the year on the 29th no matter what but hopefully NO RAIN!!!!!!!!

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30.

Wednesday Night: A slight chance of freezing drizzle. Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.

Thursday: A chance of rain. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 36.

Thursday Night: A chance of rain. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 33.

Friday: A chance of rain. Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 41.

Our? Doin' your own forecast?

Just a wee reminder from John's Rules for this discussion board (emphasis added):

"Please do not post other forecasts. I realize this is a site that has a lot to do about the weather, but my concern is that a forecast created by someone else will be posted on this site. Then another person(s) will read that forecast and think that because it is on this site, it is my forecast. I have a hard enough time trying to produce an accurate forecast and do not want to have to try and live down someone else's incorrect forecast! So you can post a link to that forecast, but please refrain from giving your own forecast or posting someone else's."

I hasten to add just one thought: Since weather forecasts clearly are highly volatile commodities, just posting a link invites the chance that the target forecast may change in the blink of an eye, thus missing the point of your post, so it might be fair to post both the link to the active, dynamic forecast as well as a static snapshot/transcript of the forecast at the time in question.

The real point being to clearly identify the source, to avoid John's concern noted above.

Locals on the fence now need more time to make the call. Looks like John's long range is may firm up ride them while we have them I know I will.

Thinking of pulling the plug

We have plans to leave Wednesday to go to Munising for New Years. I think I'm going to have to cancel this one.

What a sad, sad day :(

Thank gosh im leaving in the am tommorrow and will be back thr 31st! Every year we have a little bit of a thaw, i wouldnt worry much about it, it's only the beginning of winter......plenty of more snow will/and is gonna fall this winter!

It just kinda stinks that it happens when you schedule days off. I was even looking at going to PA or NY and it looks like the thaw will be there too.

Any other good ideas?

The local news for northern lower just said that some models are now showing cold to move back in and snow by the end of the week. As of right now they aren't sure which way it will go, rain/snow.

This coming friday Togwotee high of 4 degrees and my house 46 degrees, and all you guys are in the middle. Blame me for buying the way cool snowthrower. I cursed us. Sorry :(
