I'd be careful of Belize--we were on a cruise and ported there. We went through the port area where its all touristy. Walked through the "entry gates" to the real Belize City looking for a water taxi place. Oh my. just about turned around and headed back for the dock. Homeless people, very rude people, all starring at us, people following us and asking for money or to buy whatever theyre selling...we did find the water taxi and went to a great island for the day and the rest was good.
We also ported at Isla Roatan, Honduras. That is a location that I'd consider going back to. People are nice, cheap prices, nice beaches.
The other ports were Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Both were good, Grand Cayman is noticably much more expensive than all the other places and is the most americanized (or britishized)
