try st. martin island, its in the caribbean. very friendly, speak english and french, the island is actually split into two sides, dutch on one and french on the other(nude beach), can go anywhere on the island, dont have to worry about being somewhere you shouldnt be. we had a great time there, and hopefully we can get back there some day. you can take boats to other islands in the area.

I'll cast a vote for Cozumel. Been there diving several times & just love it. There are many 3 to 4 star all inclusives on that island that are nice. If you want suggestions, shoot me a PM.

A few upsides:
Some of the very best diving in the entire Caribbean. Specifically, wall/drift dives, which is a rare combination. It's easy to find wall dives or drift dives but usually not in the same place.
Nice, white sand beaches surrounding most of the island.
Cost, you get alot for your money.
Being on an island, you don't see some of the problems common on mainland MX.
If you want to hit Playa Del Carmen, it's a quick ferry ride.
Short travel time. Flight from ORD to Cancun is 3 hours + a 1 1/2 hr cab & ferry ride.
There are Mayan ruins nearby if that's your thing.
As with many islands, it's fun to rent scooters & just bomb around. No worries of getting lost. There are some cool bars on the cliffs & shores of the undeveloped, windward side of the island.
Cozumel has great deep sea fishing. After the day is over, throw a few bones to the boat crew & enjoy your catch with some beers on the beach around a bonfire.
Cruise ships frequent the harbor in town. If/when you get bored of the all inclusive activities, you can hit town & have some fun with the revolving door of the cruise ship crowds.
Plenty of other activities like dinner or booze cruises, sailing, para-sailing, horseback riding, ATV jungle tours, etc.

We really enjoyed Aruba, and like other Islands in the carribean it is a pretty short flight. Beautiful beaches, amazing weather, overall a very chill and relaxing time.

My wife took me to this place last May. They only have 90 rooms, it is very private, the beach is also yours after dark with 3 or 4 canopy beds on it to gaze at the stars or?? They also have flood lights they turn on at night on the dock that shine into the water. Every night we saw easily 100+ Rays come in for feeding. Its in Riviera Maya, a limo picks you up at the Cancun airport. We felt as if we were in Fiji. Here is the link... http://www.zoetryparaisodelabonita.com/Paraiso/index.html

Another great place to go is Jade Mountain in St. Lucia, its a little pricier than Paraiso. Jade Mountain is right here... http://www.jademountain.com/

First choice in my opinion is hawaii, All of the islands are different and unique. And it doesn't have to cost as much as people think.North shore of kauai is sick, Hanalei is the coolest town in the world. And the Tahiti Nui is the best bar. As far as caribbean St. john is at the top with the rest of the BVI's (virgin gorda).

St. Lucia All The Way!

I would personally recommend St. lucia. My wife and I went there last September for our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed. We went with a Sandals all-inclusive package which is a little pricey but in our opinions well worth it. We are SCUBA certified and sandles includes as many dives as you can possibly fit in as part of the package - no costs over and above, not even for gear or tanks. As nytro already mentioned, there are three different Sandals resorts on the island and you can use any of the facilities with free shuttles all day long between them. We were there for 2 weeks and only ate at a couple restaurants twice, and only because we really enjoyed them and wanted to go back. Tons of day trips you can do and rental cars to get out and about. Lots of pools and beaches to enjoy. As a side note, EVERYONE at the resorts are newlyweds - ours had over 200 couples, no kids or older folks. Lots of opportunity to meet new peope your age but less chance to get "upgraded" just because you're on your honeymoon. We stayed at the Regency which I like to think has the best mix and the most restaurants. The Halcion is much smaller and quieter with the nicest beach, and the Grande is much larger and has the most bars, pools and a little wilder crowd.

I've also been to other islands. St. Lucia was beautiful and I would go back, St. Thomas and Jamaica were nice but I likely wouldn't go back any time soon. Hawaii was our second choice of honeymoon location but we thought it might be a little too expensive. We'll likely go there for our 10 year anniversary.

Good luck with your decision. Congrats on the marriage.

I heard on the morning show, on radio today, that St. Lucia is running promotions b/c of the Bachelor TV show. Something about it being filmed in that area. I did not catch it all, but it was all resorts in the area. And since it is highly recommend above, and its on you list, you might want to check it out.

Aruba is where we spent ours. If your planning your trip during hurricane season there is no need to worry as they have only had 1 or 2 in over a hundred years. Like Stack noted weather is amazing and the beaches and scenery is the same. Most all the resorts are good and offer many different packages. Unless you plan on major drinking I would not suggest the all inclusive because there are so many different restaurants to try. Many different activities on the island as well and the people are super super friendly. It is the only warm weather place that we are ready to go back to right now!!

Kaanapali Beach Maui - No Brainer

A gourgeous tropical paradise is the USA! Get a condo on the beach for under $200.00 a night. I am going on Tuesday for my 8th time I think. There is so much to dao and I am not a sit on the beach all day kind of guy. If the sh_t hits the fan for whatever reason the USA is where you want to be, trust me. Hawaii can be done without spending big bucks. Totally forget about Bermuda. We went there once for award trip for my wifes job. It is not a very warm place for sun and fun. We were going to extend our stay but left early, cold water in may and very $$ once you are on your own dime. Jamacia not so safe off the resort, I was there once and would never go back. Mexico, been there about 5 times, fun but nothing compared to Hawaii unless you just want to drink at a pool bar. We all have our favorite spots and I have been all over, MAUI HANDS DOWN!!!! Good luck and have fun where ever you choose.

Over,
LD
