warm weather on horizon, not seeing any refreshing snows, was going to ride from Big Bay to Grand Marais the week of the 16th, spend a few days around GM area and ride back. Forecasted high temps are fluctuating from day to day, fingers crossed! Been such a great year for the northwoods hoping the damage will be minimal!

Late next week there’s 1 or 2 very promising systems popping up on forecast models. Once we get thru this weekend, as long as that fresh comes I think we’ll be ok in the Northwoods!

I'm in Munising now and the trails are great, I'll report back at the end of the week after the warm up.
Last week we attempted trail 8 from Bear Trap and turned around after a mile. Seney had not groomed for days by mid week. Friday we did go to Bear Trap and Seney groomer stopped in for lunch. I think they selectively groomed last week for weekend crowd. It seems some other groomers did the same all week. Spent all our time west and south of Munising. When groomed they were the best in years!

I think up in the U.P they will be just fine. They got so much snow. The trails in Vilas really need a fresh snow fall, like Attackman said the moisture is beat out of the snow. The warm up may help if it doesn't get too bad to put some moisture in the snow. The biggest concern I have is it's going to be pretty warm and it's going to be insane busy with all the events going on this weekend plus holiday weekend. Should hopefully be the last really busy weekend but we shall see. The high temps change every time I look at the forecast. I also see what Indy is seeing with the snow systems but long wait out. For now I will just 🙏 it happens.

Long range GFS model thru the 25th. Most all the activity is from the 20-25. Shall see! The ice on Superior broke up on Friday as well, so that should keep LES coming as well.
