I haven't been up to the UP the past couple years but didn't notice any issues the year before that on a 1400 mile saddlebag trip.
I don't need or pay much attention to turn signs but I see the need for bridge ahead or caution signs where there is water or obstructions on the trail, etc.
Been riding more in Ontario - signage isn't even comparable up there. I prefer riding by what I see in front of me on the trail instead of sign by sign, but I think we all threw in our $0.02 already a few years ago on that.
