How Is Everybody With Reduced UPMI Trail Signage?

I really had no problem this season with UPMI trail signage. IDK if I adjusted or signage is the correct amount? Seemed good to me...others?

I didn't notice any change for me. I always giggled at the signs that said steep hill and it was barely a hill at all. Where I live we have steep hills on our trails. So it was funny to see what was considered steep in the UP

Like it.
Is there a hotline to call about missing signage like stops and stop ahead on RR grades?...flew through a few intersections where driveways were being used yet no signage which contrasts all the ones where the driveways haven't been used for years yet the signs are still there.

The groomer drivers are obviously not seeing this.

For the first time ever this year after riding 15+ years in the UP I came upon two injury accidents, back to back days one was a broken femur the second was a chest/neck injury both requiring ambulance transportation both caused by missed turns. too fast for conditions? riding beyond capabilities? Poor signage? I think an additional turn ahead sign would not hurt especially on the 90 degree turns at the end of a long straight. Beyond that I felt the signage was OK but I think with snow dust an additional sign would be nice.
Broken leg was a 50+ male
Neck/chest was a 30-40 female That was on a Power line trail where the trail shifts into a low area Near Greenland

Just my opinion

I haven't been up to the UP the past couple years but didn't notice any issues the year before that on a 1400 mile saddlebag trip.

I don't need or pay much attention to turn signs but I see the need for bridge ahead or caution signs where there is water or obstructions on the trail, etc.

Been riding more in Ontario - signage isn't even comparable up there. I prefer riding by what I see in front of me on the trail instead of sign by sign, but I think we all threw in our $0.02 already a few years ago on that.

Only close call I had was on Trail 2 RR grade just after sundown riding alone west midway between IR & Watersmeet after I left my buds a few miles with them riding east at 15. An eastbound sled entered a bridge while I was on it about midway thru so I hit the binders slid straight got by the person exited bridge in the same move. IDK what happened why this person entered bridge while I was on it? ...maybe bridge ahead sign was needed or I met up with a rookie being stupid in the dark.

where we ride it was bad.....no turn signs with a 90 coming off straights....signs were missing where they should be that fer sure....did it slow us down like they want....no....not even 1mph....just would've been nice if its there because I worry about novices....many turns where we ride could be a bad situation or even death by an unexperienced rider in a new trail or terrain/area...I personally think its THE DUMBEST THING THYE HAVE DONE YET....the second DUMBEST THING MICHIGAN has ever done is eliminating the ONE WAY TRAILS...especially trail 14 that ran between L'Anse and Bigbay....before they took that out that trail ended up EVER YEAR in many magazines in the TOP TEN SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN AMERICA LIST....now your lucky if you see any sleds...LUMBERJACK used to have 100 sleds out front on any given day...now maybe 3....they need to bring back the signs for one

SAME AS NO SIGNS ON THE HIGHWAY......RETARDED (I say we eliminate highway signs and see if it slows people down.....NOT)

So many signs.... 2 weekends ago I got to remove all the signs along m28 so orv riders do not ride the snowmobile only trail.
Needed 2 f250s to haul all the signs from a 2 mile section of trail.

I personally have placed hazard signs out. Like the orange and black hash u see for bridges. Just to call out there is some thing about to surprise you....
I dont care what the rules are. Common sense.... If its a dangerous section of trail where you know people are getting hurt or damaging machines, put a sign up.
If not a sign a temporary road cone works too. The DNR are the sign police. Did not have any I put up taken down by them.

I personally found signage to be quite adequate but then I dont ride so aggressive as to need help beyond my line of sight anyway. I like the feeling of being in the northwoods over the look of I-75 just littered with signs when I am snowmobiling but understand there is a need for them in critical spots. I think those using the trail as their personal race coarse are the ones that need help with more signs but we have to share trail so I would hope that these new rules would have us thinking and driving with more common sense thats all.
