How Is Lube Snow After The Weekend Thaw?

Anybody been tooling around the Antigo area? The wife and I are planning on coming up valentines weekend to put on some miles. I know there suppose to be getting some white gold today, but I really don’t know how much and what the conditions were before today.

We did a day trip on Sat, dropped in Lakewood and did a loop to Lily, Pickerel, Carter and back. Looked like they got a inch or so of snow fri, I didn't need/use my scratchers, 80% of the trails were A+, some logging and swamps were rough.

I rode the antigo area last weekend and it was downright phenomenal. My parents are out riding the antigo area as we speak in the storm and I got a text that the trails are fantastic. They’re supposed to receive 6”+ today so you should be in for a treat.

Boots on the ground say lube snow is scarce in Vilas today. What are riders experiencing Eagle River to Sidnaw. I’d like to ride all next week but WI buds say not good no lube for hyfax and cooling. JD forecasts not showing much snow at all. Maybe repeated grooming can break up hardpack for lube? What are riders seeing out there?
Thanks,
Pete
Garageguy is spot on. .....Road trails in Vilas are getting pretty bad. Have to keep speeds down to keep plastic from burning. Snow kind of sugary on trails. Groomed trails not holding up to well. Put 130 mi. On. Some areas great ,near towns not so much.
We rode Wed-Sat
We left Carter on Wednesday morning, went through Three Lakes, north to ER ,then west and North to Sayner, west through Arbor Vitae and then south to Lac Du Flambeau
seemed to be enough traffic and grooming to keep things loose, only exceptions were road routes and parking lots.....they were either all ice or bare.....also no lube early the next morning on Lake leaving Hotel, unless you got off the beaten path away from the markers, but once on trail 17, plenty of lube, no sleds over heated, no one had Scratchers

Rode through Manitowich Waters and PI on Friday and Sat, trails had plenty of lube....some brown sugar, where grooming nightly with heavy traffic

That makes me very happy to hear!!! We rode Antigo last year and was blown away with their trail system. I’ve never rode that area because they never had snow, but last year was an incredible year for them and was hoping the same this year.
