Got the new sled mag’s in the mail yesterday. I'm sure it's old news, but saw that Ski-Doo has a new mtn. sled with a 174” (3” paddle) track. Good lord, these lengths just keep getting longer and longer! I guess my 144” is considered a short track now days. Crazy!

Treadmill for two more weeks, leave 4/5. Picked up the RMK from the shop today, all set to go. We'll see how the short track does.

Yeppers OEMs now have a good reason to up your power & ask for more lean green then suck you in for more money then shorten track.lol.

the west coast BC type riders have been running them for yrs but always in heavy mods.

I could see running that 173 in the UP on big steep and deep heavy powder days, having more fun than we are supposed to have

there's always hills in the UP a guy cannot climb on a 155 because it's hard to get the initial momentum to climb so to be able to go higher and further would only add to the fun factor. I have friends that still tell me a 144 is the max for the UP and I just laugh. I would seriously have no problem owning a 162? for the UP and out west. Cannot say it is fun to not make it to the top. With all the trees here your still not going to make every line not matter what track length

I guess your idea of fun is different then mine, which is probably why they sell the thing in the first place. Everyone is different. I would much rather take a 121" and be challenged on 80% of the terrain, than take a 174"and search all day to be challenged on 10% of the terrain.

true, I would rather not have a machine incapable of going where it was not designed to go
