Never ridden the BH's but have visited in March once before. It certainly is a beautiful area, they can get late season storms. Our favorite place to ride (The Black Hills, SD) had the worst snow season on record. We should have adapted and chased the snow, but kept holding out for a big storm out there which never happened. One trip up to MN in blistering cold (-13) which the kid couldn't handle. LOL! Got out for one day locally (rare these days). Then we did finally get out to The Hills for one trip 2/18. The conditions were actually better than we had anticipated they would be. Thought I might be renting a sled to avoid over-heating my long track, but it never got over 135. And found some decent pow to satisfy the my son, although every time we'd take off he'd say "let's go find some more powder, Dad" (which was not easy given the conditions).
Lots of mods to the kids EVO prior to the season and they did help with his ability to carve in the snow a fair bit, but the sled is just designed to stay planted on the trails to get younger riders more confident. His sled sold last week, glad to have that taken care of and not sit on it till Fall. Plan to move him up to a proper long track next season. The other was all summerized last weekend and tucked away for the long Spring, Summer and Fall.
A couple of pics from The Hills trip...
Just used “image size” app to resize them for the first time. Worked alright. Tons of pop up ads though.Nice Pictures! Do you use a photo app to downsize the pics?
X2! You're doing it right indy, it's all about family! That's how snowmobiling got to be in the beginning, eh.Indy that's awesome that you all go out as a family. The "little man" will always remember those rides no matter how insignificant they may seem at the time. You are doing a great job. Congratulations.

Never fails to surprise me how many miles you rack up in a season!View attachment 67177 It was a good season sans a few issues, but that's why I have three sleds at the ready.
2021 850 XCR had some valve issues, so at 1500 miles it was time to jump on the backup.
2200 miles from there the 2018 800 XCR had valve issues as well, so onto the backup to the backup.
Put 650 miles on the 2016 800 Pro-S until the '18 valve parts came in.
Even squeezed in 40 miles on the 1993 XCR 440 this year! That was a fun little ride.
Then put just shy of another 1000 miles on the 2018.
Now the 2021 is back from the warranty fix and sitting in the truck waiting for one more run!
I think it’s time to rebuild the 2018….
Thanks for the heads up.Just used “image size” app to resize them for the first time. Worked alright. Tons of pop up ads though.
Good idea, thanks!I usually email them to myself, where it lets me choose a smaller size for posting.
Indeed! The sled does not do well in deeper snow, only hardpack. This helped with him learning. When majority of the deeper stuff melted and most was hardpack, that got a little more nerve racking! It no longer kept him contained! He missed the turn and went flying towards my neighbor's driveway and I had to run after him. We then worked on the gas and brake. He got it down pretty well. We'll see if he remembers next year #WOTVery Cool to see a little guy like that operating a sled! A life time of memories beginning for him. Nice!
