Reba took her last walk to the mailbox today. We are thinkin her little heart gave out as she just collapsed. No warning signs. She would have been 12 in May. She made alot of friends in her life, I am soo sad, going to be rough road ahead as I have always had at least one doberman in the house since 1987.

I know how much your dog meant to you, just look at your user name. As a pet lover myself, I am very sorry for your loss and know how much this hurts! Think of all the great times you had together. :)

Sorry for your loss, it will be tough but just reflect on all the good times you had with her. We have an 11 year old boxer and I know the day is coming and it is one that will be met with a lot of heartache and tears.

Dobe, sorry for your loss. Dogs, what can ya say? There is a great poem out there. Called Rainbow Bridge. Google it and shed some tears. Lost a golden 5 years ago, she was also 12yrs.We still have some laughs about her. Three years ago we found a one year old golden and I swear part of the old one is in this one. Happier days ahead. From one dog lover to another. Take care.

I have the Bridge poem and I have sent it to my friends when their dogs pass. Now I have to read it myself. This really sucks!! Thanks to everyone for the thoughts!

So sorry to hear about your Reba. We still can not even think of replacing our Sheltie Sampson 14 years who passed last june after his daily golf cart ride. He was able to eat a small piece of his favorite food, pizza and passed in my arms. They sure find a way into your hearts.

Im sorry for your loss it is very hard when we loose a pet they are so much part of the family......I shed a tear every time I read The Bridge..............

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

When Stormy and I walk around the pond tonight we will say a prayer for Reba. Sounds like a great companion. Sorry for your loss.

LMD,

I know nothing said on here helps too much, but with all the dog lovers here, I do hope it helps a little. My dobe will be 8 this June, and it hurts anytime I think about the inevitable. They all love us so much, as we do them. I'll say a prayer and give her a toast.

R.I.P. Reba
