Man I was just thinking I spent less on this trip than in past years. Seems the price on the road was less than I paid last year, and except for a couple spots charging $4.50 a gallon for 91, gas for the sled wasn't bad either. On the other hand, maybe just being in the UP makes everything better no matter what the price of gas is.

the gas going up has nothing to do with the market or the economy. it all has to do with gov regulation.
now is the time of yr the refinery's have to switch over to start making summer blend. that means they are now selling the stock pile and when they are no longer producing winter blend there is no more supply.
supply and demand kicks in.
same thing around labor day every yr they start the winter blend change over .
dont think so dig deep and look it up.

Gas does seem to go up about this time every year lately. I got 87 octane without ethanol 10 days ago for 3.03, today it is 3.54 in Grand Forks for the same thing. I am still going to ride all that I can until the snow is gone though.

Check Gas Buddy in Casper Wy, its $2.60. About a $1 cheaper than here.

If I put on 1500 miles this year Gas is about $400 in my 4 stroke and that is still way cheaper than the cost of buying it. I figure it costs $1000 a year to own it plus Gas. Why does it bother us more to put Gas or a Sticker on our Sled than writing a $10,000 Check to buy one?

I would rather betch about the $10 quart of 2 cycle oil that adds a buck a gallon to ur fuel costs,,,,Ski Doo 4 stroke is the way to go,,,,,just add boost

X3 who cares. People complain about gas and driving to work, don't like it ride a bike or this time of year cross country ski's. Never paid attention, hope I never have to.

What are your options when you are out riding and don't like the price at the pump. Go to another gas station ? Good luck with that.

I can run any octane with my ext 4s, but what fun is that? I'm sittin on a few hundred $ of c16 (118 motor octane, almost 18 a gallon) and can't wait to burn through it so I can buy some more! Wish I could buy that at the pump in UP. FUNNY, can buy 100 octane for about $8.50 right by my house.

More whining............. Ladies get over it. What freezes first tears or pe'ed pants? is the real question I am reading here. It is what it is. Doesn't matter where you live, Gas should be much higher considering the rate this country burns thru it.

Yup... gas prices are high... but we just find ways to cut back on other things -> like bringing our own meals and less pricey lodging. Sometimes when we go up north, I'd like to be able to stay in some fancy hotel and eat all my meals out but then that would limit the trips we can make to ride.

No complaining here about the price of gas, the price of diesel to drive our truck or the cost of taking time off work for this girl (I'm self employed and if I don't work, I don't get paid)....Just wanna RIDE!!

10 gallon tank??

Get a Ski-Doo with an Etec or Ace 600.

Etec will give you 21mpg 210 per tank with POWER.

ACE 600 will give you 30mpg with modest power.
