I need gas struts for my trailer cap

I have a 07 US Cargo 2 place enclosed and I need 2 new struts. The previous owner had pieces from a local autoparts place and one has a blown seal. In terms of overall length and lifting capability, can anyone offer a suggestion to replace them. US Cargo tech line was useless. Thanks in advance.

Try Bansbach.com they may have what you are looking for. Or Maxum Hardware.com probably a better source

Do a search for gas springs. Tons of places to buy them online. Take a look at the ones you have now. They should have a lable on them which will show you what rate you have now. They are rated in lbs, 50,60, 100 etc. Eric

All Autoparts store carry them, the problem I found was finding the same setup on the way their attached. Wound up ordering them from R&R trailer dealer. Bought two just in case.

I have also been trying to find some struts and am at a dead end. All the web sites I have been to don't have a place to enter a pt# search. The struts I have are Lift O Mat 753122 1000N 208/99. I have found that the 1000N converts to 225lbs. Any help?

the arms on each side of the cap on our triton trailer w/bearcat cap went out, we're too cheap, just cut up some 2x4's, put bolts on each end of it and put the bolts into the holes where the locks go. Would rather save the money for the sled, but, we don't always use this trailer in the winter since it's easier to put them on our open trailer.

Here's the sight that we use in the industry. Lou has millions of these things, manufactures em'.Quick service, see if you can find a number on the strut, if not, he'll still figure it out by width of gas body, stem width and length.

I have a Triton and would really like to know if there is some kind of strut to aid in lifting the top with a heavy snow load.the worst part of clams is the lifting with wet or frozen snow pulled a Handel off lifting last yr

Heavy lifting

If you have that much weight[ snow and ice] you really need to get it off before tearing off a handle or rotator cup. Beside that, who wants that cover comming down on ya while loading sleds? Only takes a few extra minutes.

if it did not rain on the snow and make a 4in block of solid ice no ladder just a sled shovel and midnight in a parking lot that clearing thing would have been a great idea

Deal with Lou, you will not regret it!! I can't say enough about my great experience. I recently completed a conversion on my older Triton enclosed to get rid of those ugly steel arms at the back. Lou was able to cross reference the struts for force and make it to my exact length.

After I had them installed, I accidentally hit one with my ski (loading in the dark) and bent it. He replaced it free of charge, no questions asked (even shipped it at no charge and never asked for the original one sent back).

I have since purchased two additional supports from Lou for other projects and had same great experience.

I went with the 250lb struts and they are a little stiff, but great with a snow load on top. 225lb should work perfect.

I finally found the Lift O Mat brand that was on my trailer at Points West Marketing out of Winnipeg. Their website had a complete part # list and I found the exact match. Nice people to work with too. They will be here Wednesday.

Two handles better en' one!

Ezra, I suggest mounting another handle on the rear of the cover so that two people can lift 400 lbs. of ice? Two handles are better than one anyway.lol.
