Thats sweet!! You have it on a CR 250 ? Can't wait to hear some reviews after you've rode it some. If you don't mind sharing, how much do you have in it? Have been thinking about doing this to either my KX5 or YZ450F but have never got to talk to anyone that has 1.

it is actually a 125, I plan on getting a 450 this summer, I was just too excited to wait till I had a big bike. like it so far. I will be able to just swap it to the big big when the time comes. had/have some issues with the tunnel buckeling but i think i have it figured out for now. it does really good for only a 125, I can get 5th gear pretty normally, just not top of 5th. for the few weeks to a month we have left it will be fun.

I think the 500 would be nuts!! there is a guy who has one in sd on a kx500 he says its pretty fast. Those old 500s have the best hp to weight ratio of any bikes even still today. only prob is mixing gas and bad mpg

Awesome. How much horsepower does it rob? 10%, 20% ? Whats the cost?
You know these would be a blast!

the kit I modeled mine after costs 5k with out the bike. I spent 50 on the track, 40 on the ski, 100ish for parts and 100ish for aluminum and steel a they say it only robs 5-10%hp. I used an old set of xtra12 rails and built my own suspension arms. used the small extra 12 shock and got a custom shock made by the shock shop in becker. pics soon, none taken yet

check out timbersled.com tons of info there.

Very Nice Build

Love it, I rode with Allen, the owner of timebersled at Snowhawkfest in cooke city Mt a few week's ago, Those kit's he build's are like no other, They do so much more than a guy think's. Your build look's good. There is a good website for the bike conversion guy's. Not sure if this is legal on JD. Backcountryrebels.com has alot of good info on snowbike's.

probably would be sweet!! those old 500s are supposed to be nuts, a guy out in SD built one for a kx500. those 500 2 strokes have the best hp/weight ratio of any bike, even new bikes. 70+hp and 300lbs wet can beat that with a sled

the more I ride this thing the more I fickin love it! took it down the ditch a little ways today. tracked pretty straight and smooth, 13" of front travel and 13" of rear travel is smoooooootttthhhh. topped it out at 47.5 which considering it is only a 125 and with wheels it tops out at 50-55 doesnt seem too bad. bigger bike guys switch the gears top to bottom and they run 65 or so but I dont think the 125 would push that gear ratio. So I will stick with what I have. I dont even need top speed. it is so fun. part of the ditch was really steep, all the sleds had to go up on the road, I just kept going straight and sidehilled probably a 50 degree slope. I didnt even do anything, just kept driving straight. I hope to take it out again tomorrow.

looks like you are confident on it 1st thing I thought was wow a test run with no brain bucket then I laughed at my self and thought ok now it is official you are a old man.how do you think it would Handel the tight twisty trails with trees on both sides at speed?what about in the woods think you will be able to just plow over the small timber and brush or will you just have to pick more lines?how long do you think in between clutch packs?looks like a blast have been watching videos for a few yrs but for some reason was always afraid they would not be stable and other reasons posted above.think you can barefoot behind that this summer.I really want to see it skip I have seen a vid of some Canadian kids skipping a snow hawk but there is no shifting a snow hawk

skipping seems kinda scary! but I am sure it will happen one day. I am sure on the 125 the clutch may not last too terribly long, on a big bike I am sure its not an issue. now that i have been riding it it has loosened up pretty nice, if I push it the track rolls pretty easily. in terms of stability it is solid and wants to stay up right all the time, it definately does not lean as easy as a bike, it is very stable. twisty trails seem like they will be fun, but I am worried about icy corners. they are supposed to be nuts off trail, you can just putt around slow in like 1st or second gear. I will let u know, thats my plan for today!

Wish I could have made it out with you guys! Did Les get the Kawi conversion working? The Hawks are a blast in the correct conditions and I am sure a bike kit would be equally as fun!

Not that unique, a few years ago Yamaha made a machine called a sno-scoot did not go over very well. At least for them, they only made them for a year or two.

here is a sno scoot and it actually did well, easily worth 1500 now, the snow sport is worth 2 now. It's a mini sled with a rider forward chassis. Nice little sleds. not good for pow though

yes the snow scoot are worth more now than when new dont know why so many go from kitty cat to 120 when the yammi would get at lest 2 more seasons of use from a growing kid.I think they were just a bit ahead of ther time if out now I think they would out sell the 120s 2 to 1

not only that, the chassis is light years ahead of the 120's. Go figure, Yamaha makes a kids sled that doesnt catch on for 12 years and on 03 the rev comes out and changes the industry
