If money was no object

It always seems things get tight in April for me which makes me think about having unlimited funds. I always think what would I spend it on? Kind of like the 7 people from NY that now have 119 Million each.

This is how I would spend it
I am going with a large boat and a go fast boat in tow bringing all my working friends to the boat when they have vactaion.

I dream about someday getting on the Mississippi near LaCrosse and head to the Gulf around Florida and head up toward NY and back throught inland water ways to WI

Winter fun would include riding weekdays,

So let here how you would spend your unlimited funds

Ah Skeeter...dare to dream, eh?

After I paid off all of my debts, I'd sit back and think of how good it feels to not have to worry about money. I'd be happy and content with that.

AND THEN!!!!...

I'd get me a nice diesel pusher, pack up the family, hire a driver (sure! why not?) and just go...not sure where to first...THAT would take some time...and what difference would it make if I went E instead of W or S instead of N?? Kids would be home schooled by the bus driver (sure! why not? he's a tutor too!) and just travel for a year. Maybe longer.

Reddit had a thread one day from a guy who won like $27 MM, take home. He was a typical cubical dweller in corporate America. So people asked him questions and he spent the day answering them.

Here's what he does. First, he paid off his bills. He operates only on cash, no debt. He travels a lot, commercial flights (but first class on long trips). He goes somewhere, wherever. He hangs around for a while, usually in jeans and a t-shirt. He hangs with the locals, buys drinks at the local bars, and if he likes the feel of the place a lot he buys a house. If he doesn't like the feel of the place he moves on.

I don't recall that he had a lot of houses, maybe like 10 or so. He doesn't have the Bentley or the big boat, but he simply hangs out, anywhere in the world.

Sounded pretty good to me, but my first purchase would probably be the Konteka!

depending on how much $ was won, I've always said I would put a chunk of it towards family and good friends, invest so I have a comfortable income and buy a fifth wheel and travel.

We would definately donate some to some good causes that we currently support.

After that the wife gets to remodel the house and I get to buy toys, and a house in the U.P. would be very high on the list.

John, how do feel about having rich neighbors? If we would win of course.

THAT sounds good to me. I woudn't buy anything fancy...just more of the stuff I already like. I already have a house in White Pine so I'd just buy a lot of DRINKS at Konteka and bowl a little more!

And was mocking the 125'er as if it were a skiff?! a MODEST sail boat!? :)

jr and latner - charity and family? hmmmm...I'd have to think on that one. I think I'd do charity before family!? (ouch!) I know some of my friends that could use some cash. I'd just find out their routing numbers and not tell them it was me, though. For sure do that. My diesel pusher was my first selfish thought tho!

Nash,

A few years back we were on a cruise with a stop in Nassau. The ship pulls in early and docks right next to 'Octopus'. That Yacht was really something. The crew opened the back door and pulled out one of the Helicopters and washed it all day. Of course all of us idiots stood at the rails all day thinking this will be cool to see someone come out get in the helicopter and fly off. They dried it off pushed it back into the garage. Oh well off to the straw market with my girls. Now spending time with my three girls was what it was about. They could spend it all.

But they let me head north and snowmobile at the drop of a hat!!!!

I would buy a brand new snowmobile, quite a few used ones too, brand new truck, brand new 24' enclosed trailer, BIG (read, BIG) garage, smallerish brand new house in the UP, and what would I do? I would go snowmobiling. Maybe do some more snowmobiling. And, possibly, do some more snowmobiling. Did I mention I'd do some snowmobiling?

If money was no object, I would hire someone to do the typing for me while I dictate posts for JD. Then maybe I could catch up to I500!

OK, my 10 year old just got back from a shelter - service project for his scout troop. He's wiped out from the work and from the sadness that there was a kid there about his age and 50 people who needed dinner and a place to sleep. A little different perspective on what I'd do with my ficticious fundage now...sigh...

Indy, you sure you don't wanna throw a boat in there for some summertime fun?

700 - I'll send you my resume...I promise to only charge you $100/post!?! :D

Maybe a crotch rocket, moped, rzr, sportsman 800, outlaw 525, late 60s chevelle with 454. Boats and jet skis are not for me.
