Indy 600 vs Indy 600 SP

So I am going to muddy this thread a bit, but think it is enough related that no one will get to PO's. I will say I am not brand loyal, but my last 2 sleds have been yamahas and have really liked their reliability. They just keep truckin' with almost zero maintenance. Mostly ride the UP and do some boondocking. Looking for a second sled for my wife and potentially for my son in a few years (he is 11 now). My wife likes my '12 nytro xtx. She feels very planted and prefers the "downshift" of the 4 stroke vs the coast feel of the 2 stroke. It did take me some time, but feel my machine is very dialed in, especially compared to many of the other nytro's out there. I will ride whatever and be okay.

I was also looking at the Indy 600 and the SP. Think they are great bang for the buck. So I checked one out. Out the door cost at my local dealer for standard indy was $6500 for the SP was $6900. That sparked my intereste a little more to look at others. The 'gade sport was right around $8000. Then this past weekend found a "good buddy deal" on a new '15 viper ltx for $8000. Man, I think they are all good choices. Any thoughts for the fine folks on this site?

Snowbuilder - I was thinking the same thing, but agree, how much lower can a new sled go? No matter what you are looking at, I will say almost all new sleds are great prices. But as you would think, used sleds are not moving at all.

Feb next week. Might see more fire sales. Lots of sleds still in crates at Poo dealer here.

You don't want a Sport - it's an old tech, carbed sled and only 100 HP. The Yam guys wouldn't like Doos cause they crave that "tankish" feel. The heavier the better - somehow that extra 150 lbs of iron holds them together.

Hahahaha hahahahhaha...haven't had a good laugh in a while

Could be a used machine.
2016 LTX DX in my area is $9,995 plus tax and registration (no set up etc.).

Nope, new. Like I said, good buddy discount. A guy who I hunt with is offering this up. Not my normal dealer and he has never offered up anything like this in the past. I think he just became a better buddy:p

Well Greg you get what you pay for and I don't think I insulted anyone but your have to answer to peeps you sold to not me...lol... I certainley didn't direct any of my comments to you personally or Trackside & I don't know why I would? I'm not going to list all the problems with my last 2s sled & engine from shocks, springs & blown engine as I stated 2s not going to hold up for me & Indy fits that pattern. Now Hoosier could luv the Indy for his style of riding ..imo... SP is the better buy. Hoosier asked about upgrading so we responded simple as that.

I will end my rant with: When I post on this forum as Cooksend that is who I am and nothing more! My profession or place of employment has nothing to do with my opinion on this post. You have combined that in the past and I sent you a PM a long time ago asking you to separate that. Please remember that if you would! ;)

Currently Northwoods TV is being bombarded with all OEM Snowmobile Sales for 2016 model year must be a huge soon to be non current inventory. Nobody has to have a snowmobile but sure is fun to rent or own. So many TV ads now just background noise but they have to do something with low snow & inventory accumulation.

I got an email from a Doo dealer in northern Wisconsin with what seemed to me to be some huge rebates on 2016 Doo's, so it does seem they are all trying to clear out even current year machines.

Good feature in new American Snowmobiler Mag for 600s poo, ac & doo...just the info you are looking for regarding Indy. Lowest price of all 3 but still good bang for buck ,imo, and even AS say you get what you pay for Indy not meant to bang & jump but good groomed trail sled. The obvious the better quailty shocks will give you a better ride & more ruff trail capability....no brainer imo. :)
