Did you ever check you tank vent tube?

nope, couldn't think of anything/didn't know how to check anymore than what i did so i figured what the heck, $55 an hour and i'll have a sled when the trails open again this week after our 4-6 inches

Sorry to say take your carbs back off and take your carb boots off for a close inspection. Sometimes the wd 40 trick doesnt work if your cracks are on the bottom. My sled was doing the same exact thing and I thought it was a bent needle, the boots looked fine from the top but after takeing them off they both had huge cracks on the bottom side. Sled ran fine but would only idle on one cylinder. Get it running when its on one and pull a plug wire off. If the idle doesnt change its that cylinder and vice versa. That way you know which cylinder its missing on. If your boots are cracked a little on the outside i would replace them both anyway because they will crack through and cause problems. Dude get it back from the dealer, you will figure it out, I bought my first sled when I was 19 and still have it running great. Never been to the dealer and I have spent many hours scratching my head but always eventually get it. Like jimsr said you have the skill just keep working on it.

The oil did not make the crank seal go bad, if that is the problem. Over 20,000 miles between my brothers last two sleds and my last two sleds on Citgo. The oil did not cause the problem.

2005 Polaris switchback/RMK 600ves. newer 15x144x2 track, slp skis, handle bars raised 6 inches. scratches, cover, etc. etc. etc. no problems ever. Changed drive bearing when installed new track. Well maintained. Ready for trouble free riding. $3000 , comes with trail pass for MI. Ready for boondocking, or anything else you can find. Motor has never seen discount oil. All others $3500.

the crank seal ain't bad, a cylinder is scored and the piston has a hole in it

So how in the world is it the fault of the oil ??? You have a lean fuel mixture... more than likely by ripped carb boots or plugged jets in the carbs..... OIL WILL NOT BURN A HOLE IN A PISTON.

If you no longer want to run Citgo... you can send it too me...I'll use it. I have 9000 miles on my Viper and it has never had the engine apart.... but I know how to clean carbs.

the carbs r clean, u can come check them out if you'd like. jets r as clean as a whistle. i only fill up at shells, bp's, and mobil1's. carb boots look fine.

Indy what happen? I thought you said in other threads that is the best motor ever made for snowmobile. lol

I blew up 2 of those motors, 1 in a 1991 500 and a 2003 500 rebuilt them both 1991 is long gone still have 2003 still running good with over 10,000 miles on it.
rebuild it not that hard you can do it. redo top end and new seals be good as new.

I have always ran citgo sns!
