Installing a different seat on an Edge chassis

I have a 2001 Polaris 800 xcsp that I want to put a different seat on(taller one). I know about the Boss seats at $400+, not that much in the budget. Just want to sit a little higher to make it easy on the knees. Would the seat off a Fusion fit with out too much of a problem. I don' care if it looks a little Frankstien- like, **** I kinda look that way myself! Don't put enough miles on a year to justify updating sled, just trying to get the old one little more comfortable.

The wedge works but tilts the seat forward. I'd look for a factory shorty Pro X2 seat. That will look stock.

The wedge does make you slide forward, my one son has one.The shorty seat would work, but expensive, so what I did after I didn't like the wedge was, the other two of my machines, I had access to some 06 can am atv seats, I took the foam out and took it to my local seat upholstery shop and they made covers for them and left me about 5-6 inches on each side, I then put snaps on the sides and then on the tunnel, pulled it tight and they work awesome, I still had about $200 each, and they look nice also, plus added a softer ride, Sorry I don't have any pics, my sleds are up north at my cabin.

another idea I had but didnt try was to remove the current seat and build a small wooden frame using 2x4's and cover it with a sheet of plywood, paint it black and install under your present seat.

I think I'm going to hit the local sled salvage and look around. Maybe get a couple of brain cells knocking together and come up with something!

I put a red pro x shorty seat on my 05 xc sp 500 back in the day and also ran a WRP seat on my 05 switchback 600. The shorty seat was more comfortable sitting than the wrp, but the wrp gave it more of a rider forward feel, and was better for standup riding. Theyre both good options imo.
